We were working with plaster a few weeks ago and uhh,,? Bear mask with Ursa Major constellation added on for good measure? I was gonna lighten up the bottom and paint the silhouettes of trees but I’m lazy and not patient enough for that.

Tuesday Tips - Structure/Gesture: Why Not Both!

Probably one the most compelling issue to deal with when drawing characters. There’s clear pros and cons to both approach. The key, IMO, is to straddle the line between both. Give appeal and energy through the use of gesture, but always give hints of structure, weight and solidity to make the character feel like it lives in an environment. I do a quick, dynamic gesture first, then I go back in and add some structure on a second pass. @dinnple-doodles is my art blog! I’ve just moved all my art somewhere separate to help keep it organized. Art tutorials and advice I use are posted there, too.

@bone-basket is my vulture culture blog! Anything involving dead animals, insects, bones, taxidermy, etc. is all there! I haven’t posted anything too gorey yet, but I’ll tag anything deemed too much (guts, blood, skinned animals, etc.).

Class changed to rogue! Please for the love of all things good never try to draw armor. I’m hoping to be done before the end of the month but that might not happen depending on the amount of work I have to make up (the only downside to snowdays). Sorry for the gross picture lmao.

Finally getting around to developing a DnD character. I would gladly give my life for them. I’m still working on the outfit models but I think this is pretty solid for a 10 minute sketch. Lander - non-binary, ranger, sparrow kenku Some otherwise-useless things I thought were cute but may end up scrapping: - They make their own arrow fletchings out of their own feathers - They use a nest-like quiver they wove themself - Lander is a joke because bird  - Some sort of pun involving sparrow = spare that is practically their catchphrase because they use it relentlessly TL;DR I love them so much and this is the most defined character I’ve had in a long time.

Probably sketching it out? I would rather die than do lineart but it’s a necessary evil.

Definitely animals! I started doodling awful Warrior Cat OCs in 6th grade with a couple of my friends and it’s grown from there. I decided to hold back this year for the Secret Santas going around, because I felt I wasn’t quite ready yet to totally disappoint a stranger lmao. I’ll probably do one this upcoming year though!
