I can't help but be pissed off at the people who act as if Roxy being a trans man in the epilogues is some horrible act of transmisogyny. Yes, they did have some tfem coding in the original comic, but that's not how hsbc interpreted their character. I liked the way they wrote Roxy in hsbc and I think they touched on some parts transmasculinity that I don't usually see talked about. Y'all just HATE when characters are transmasc. I'm betting if any other character, even the ones who are tmasc coded, were confirmed to be trans men you'd take offense to it too. Idk I'm just really mad right now about how this fandom treats transmasculinity

i completely understand the fact that delfi as a name has cultural ties and “dagger” is white guy roleplay and he will probably grapple with his racial identity as a part of his gender identity arc but i really don’t think “he’ll just go by his birth name” is a satisfying or interesting conclusion to this conflict. after all, these characters arcs aren’t going to be about navigating the cultures they exist in currently. they’re going to be about navigating the notions of said cultures after they suddenly end. nymph culture is going to die the same way satyr culture is going to die the same way alternian culture died the same way earth culture died.

the bulk of the story is still about playing a game that ends the world, playing a game with the goal of creating a universe. in that way it is also about re-imagining culture and not necessarily rebuilding it, in the way that troll culture on earth c is distinct but also not a recreation of alternian culture. the prospective arc of dagger’s self exploration is not just navigating the divide of female nymph vs male satyr it’s navigating the preconceived notion of female nymph vs male satyr while participating in the project of culture creation. ultimately he’s going to find himself in a world in which a male nymph is possible if he can conceive of such a thing. that’s not an arc of acceptance, it’s an arc of ground up identity building.

neither delfi nor dagger are “real” names in the sense that they both erase a part of his fundamental being so to him, as a character, accepting either one or the other is a concession to a cultural landscape that fundamentally does not consider him in a situation in which he gets to decide what the cultural landscape ought to be

Was revealed that TC was at least somewhat raised by Dirk (it's definitely not gonna be that straight forward) so I would want to see Dave's reaction to that

Ct - kanaya

Process of elimination and I'd feel bad if kanaya had to be the exile for one of the nymphs

Aa - aradia and davebot

Aradia will like AA's vibe and drags davebot over there with her + I've seen people only using the meat crew for the exiles but I'm pretty sure that aradia and davebot will also be exiles since it just makes sense to me + since Jake and Karkat and exiles for one kid there won't be enough in meat crew

Vrissy - vriska

Self explanatory + I feel like there's gonna be some parallels between vriska + terezi and vrissy+ ly'lac

Read the new upd8. It was only one page but I still loved it. I love Ly'lac and TC's relationship/dynamic. Also just happy to see more of tc out of the satyrs they're my favorite. I know we're getting their design this year and I hope it happens soon.

ok so del'fi is also aware that the exile commands aren't his own thoughts, though unlike ly'lac he's recognized them as the requests of individuals rather than as The Voice(tm). wonder if that's bc of their genetic ties to rose or if jake was somehow more obvious than terezi

I know this post is from months ago but no one has said this so. This is actually something from homestuck cannon. Seers are able to hear their exiles better than the others. This most likely means del'fi is a seer
