just putting it together now that the Caretaker being a knit doll and the Combiner looking like bedsheets kind of create the complementary implication that nymphs are textile. which suits Rose as a fibre artist and contrasts with the almost-robotic nature of Dirk's metal-skeletoned satyrs, and also means that my first ever preliminary nymph fanart was on the money in a stupid way:

7/25/26 Upd8

ok i'm down visiting family so this is probably going to be super rough and i'm like super frazzled as i'm reading this so. forgive me if this post is bad

We have Ly'lac returning home riding only the horn of the Narwhal...unfortunate for him. Or fortunate, seeing where this upd8 goes later. We see TC certainly has deployed everything to start the game up, and even deployed a...Ly'lac robot...??? Cute??? Before we get a big Vrissy/Ly'lac talk.

This conversation is interesting cause Vrissy is insanely in the know. Like, not just in the know about The Game (which makes sense considering. her parents and all) but also the way Ly'lac already "knew" her and whatnot. We learn that AA already knew all of this shit was happening too, roughly, more or less, whatever. Good for her. So Ly'lac killed the Narwhal cause he asked to die. Seems to be something she does often, though once again her death spells aren't working quite right. Vrissy learns about Nymph culture and it's pretty interesting. She does seem actually pretty interested in Ly'lac and this whole world. The Uninymph was taken captive and forced to stay alive because if he died, the world would end. And so, now that the Game has begun, the world will end, so Ly'lac killed him. Cool. There's the faintest hint of a love triangle a-brewin'. Vrissy seems to be getting it for TC, and TC has it for Ly'lac, and Ly'lac has it for Vriska...good lord. I also find it funny Ly'lac says calling TC "bobo" is *their* thing, when...Swiss also calls him Bobo. Seems TC doesn't share that sentiment? Vrissy freaks out and starts going into damage control mode to try and make a new player entry order since TC's out like a light. Which is concerning, that she says he doesn't wake up...they're totally killing my son. It's fun to see Vrissy actually like...do...shit?? And be an active participant?? Anyways there's the upd8 I'd talk more about this if I wasn't at home visiting family!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vrissy calling attention to the fact that the nymphs (and satyrs both!) are basically straight out of a cartoon Rose watched when she was a kid was interesting. it really brings to the forefront how much of this arc of the story is about psychic manifestations of things

I ended up drawing Del’fi a lot recently. I love his design, it’s insanely fun to draw and also communicates the vibes of a closeted/pre-transition character really well. So OFC I wanted to try designing a totally speculative older Del’fi, after he’s figured himself out a little more. I wanted to vaguely retain the school uniform look and just for fun tried to give him some visual Dirk-isms with a pointier head + the popped collar and gloves. I will feed my son so he grows up big and strong and evil.
