What is old and new magic? It was not greatly explained in the show and it confused me a lot. Thank you and have a great day!

Yeah, we never did a great job explaining it 🫠

It's pretty straightforward! With Old Magic you channel magic from the earth through your body to cast a spell, with New Magic you can gather a bunch of magic into a terrasphere and use that to store magic instead of your body. Old Magic is more difficult because you need to control the magic within yourself and your spells are limited to your own strength/control, New Magic you have a ton more power at your fingertips with less training. But that means you can cause bigger problems if you lose control.

Does healing magic exist in the HGS world? I know healers exist, because Sage originally wanted to be one, but we never see HOW they do it.

Yeah! Caraway tries to heal the Scypith with magic in episode 11 but it was too far gone. It works the same as any other magic in that world, just requires studying different spells & mixing different potions :3

These are the oldest drawings I have of Amaryllis and Snapdragon, from 2018! I think I drew this as we were just getting the writer's room for the show started. The bullet points are literally me figuring out the characters, it's kind of amazing how a lot of these details made it into the show!
