@goodgood I was thinking about checking out some schools in Germany too but I have no idea where to start. My mom went to school in Ireland as well as multiple other members of my family so it’s a lot easier for me to figure out where I would want to go haha. If any of my German followers have any suggestions please let me know!!
follower from Germany here, hi!
so our universities don’t have study fees (only organisation fees for about 150€ per semester) and there’s lots of good universities. however, unlike in korea you should check which uni is “the best” for the subject you wanna study, ‘cause it varies a lot. i study at the university of Heidelberg, majoring in China studies and my uni is mostly well-known for medicine, sciences and apparantly our Chinese department is pretty good too (for Bachelor at least). but in general, university educaton is quite good here. if you wanna go to a bigger city, Hamburg is great! Heidelberg is famous and super pretty, but pretty small so u might get bored here quickly. or pick any university in cologne, bonn, düsseldorf...you’ll be right in the center of a couple big cities, and get to easily travel around between them because your student card for public transportation works for the entire federal state there ^-^
Sometimes I think about Magnus slowly backing up and disappearing dramatically into the portal at his club and it honestly gives me life
I KNOW I LOVE IT HE DOES THIS SO MUCH??? i mean consider this:
disappears from his own apartment after alec rejects him
stalks around the room whenever he’s talking
makes a huge fucking deal about that necklace and then immediately hands it off to izzy as if it’s worth pennies like he was clearly more annoyed about the clave taking it from him than anything
i bet he sent them a fire message every damn day all REMEMBER THAT RUBY U STOLE FROM ME ITS MINE
but it’s been a 100 goddamn years so now he’s reaching some poor shadowhunter intern who’s like “um s-sure ok lemme check the inventory"
declared “pretty boy” while gesturing as vaguely as possible in both jace’s and alec’s general direction just so he could shut jace down when jace inevitably took the bait
i s2g even the way he drinks his wine is dramatic:

没办法 mei2ban4fa3
没 mei2 - not have; not
办法 ban4fa3 - means; method; way (of doing sth)
This is a very interesting Chinese expression. I’ve been in China for almost 11 months now and I’ve heard it at least a hundred times. But what does it mean? Let’s take a look.
Basically, 没办法 means ‘there is nothing I can do’. It is used when you feel helpless or you need to get something done but an office worker (or whoever else) doesn’t want/doesn’t know how to help you and then they say 没办法. You can also use it in a situation when you don’t want to do something but it cannot be helped (for example your boss makes you work overtime - 没办法, you need to stay at work).
I think it’s really important to know this expression when you plan on coming to China. Sometimes Chinese people just don’t want to help when they see a foreigner and use this expression as a kind of a shield. I’ve heard it a lot in the university office. When they say 没办法 there IS a 办法 so the only thing that can help is being patient and standing there until they get it done ;).
short commentary: this is expression that i heard the most often in Taiwan, and at the same time, it’s also the most annoying one. it’s used for everything. literally, i get super angry whenever i hear it.
One day, there was a huge downpour so i tried to get a taxi from the subway station to take me to a friends place (only a few blocks away, so not far). i got completely drenched, went into 3 different taxis and every single driver, after i told them the address only responded with “没办法”. since it was raining, it took a while to even get into a cab, yet every single driver thought since the distance wasn’t too far, they’d rather not take me and wait for a “better” customer. which, btw, IS ILLEGAL. (as far as i know) so basically that’s the kinda situation that taiwanese LOVE to use this expression in. 9/10 times, it does not mean there is actually nothing they can do. it usually just means they don’t give a shit and rather not do their job. i heard it when my phones internet connection had problems and i went to the store that had sold me the sim card and phone contract to ask about it, heard it when taxi drivers cheated me out of money by driving a completely different and much longer route than necessary, when sellers at stores tried to rip me off and i argued that i know it’s actually cheaper than that e.g.... those kinda situations.
basically, this is the one expression that i hate hearing the most.
