[email protected] Every year, 1000's of undocumented students graduate high school in North Carolina but cannot fulfill their dreams of college, due to being classified as out of state students. We need to win in-state tuition for undocumented youth in NC! This project seeks to collect pictures of DREAMers' diplomas in order to share these accomplishments with NC Senators and Representatives, and demonstrate that DREAMers are constituents who live in and contribute to communities across our state. I graduated from CE Jordan High School in Durham in 2007. Being undocumented, I was fortunate to be accepted to Columbia University, and I graduated in 2011 with a degree in Women's and Gender Studies.

I definitely remember all the stress and anxiety that I experienced during my senior year of high school since I didn't know if it would be possible to pursue higher education. It certainly wasn't possible to study in NC since I didn't qualify for in-state tuition. I didn't even consider it as an option, so I looked to out-of-state, private colleges and universities to see if they would give me the opportunity that I didn't have here. In-state tuition is necessary because it not only allows undocumented students the opportunity to pursue our dreams, but also to work towards realizing more solutions for NC.

We are part of the fabric of NC and we are part of its future.
