"I never had any mother to speak of." He would never call Lady Catelyn a mother by any means. A mother had to be caring and kind to be given such a title and he would rather have no mother than to call tarnish the title by giving it to that woman."And my father was murdered."He couldn’t think about him right now. Snow listened silently as he answered her question. She blinked back tears as she looked up at him. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know. My father was too, when I was fifteen.”

That was only about two years ago. It hurt less somehow, putting it that way; at an age that was simply in the past rather than telling him that it had been a mere two years since she’d seen her beloved father’s smile.

 She wished she knew him well enough to offer him her hand in shared comfort, but didn’t wish to make him uncomfortable so she remained still as she stood near him, trying not to cry.

Jon shook his head and the thoughts of his father from his mind. "It is fine, my lady," he stated at her. "It is not your family that has wronged my own." Yet the enemies against the Stark household only seemed to be growing. At least he did not have to worry about that with the White family. Yet. He could never be too sure anymore. Not that there were many Starks to slay anymore.
