Reboot in motion

So it was kind of unofficial for a while, but I’ve thought about it, and I don’t really feel the Mika-muse anymore (not for RP at least, I still plan to eventually write fanfics with him), be it this blog or DAI interactions, and at first I thought, maybe I can have this blog just be fox and magic and lightning appreciation, but that would mean going out of my way to find and reblog some (and/or follow some blogs that I’ll see some), and at this point, I’d just rather reblog to my person if I find anything fox/magic/etc I like.

So: this blog is now closed!!

If Mika ever comes back as a muse, it will be over @choruscaelum , though I’m not sure how he would come back (back to his DAI background, with his crossover background, or both?). Otherwise, you can always keep on eye on my fanfics @chrisemrysfics if you want.

Annoucement!

I am indeed planning to move and add Mika to choruscaelum!!

Just so you know, however, I do plan to start over, his backstory will mix both his old one (the dai one) and inspiration from the dgm one (that developped on this blog). The backstory will be similar about his origins (Latharia clan), I will see then how the rest goes (he likely does spend a few months/years with the Lavellans), the dgm parts of his story will be inspired by the storyline with @thenoahfamily but wont be the same (the verse with Ti will still exist on its own, but the dgm world&characters for Mika will be mine).

This is because I love both Mika’s original story and the crossover one, so I had to think of how to mix it and came up with this. This time, while Mika might have low or mid activity, he will be there to stay. I just needed to figure out how to put down his basics again.

Soooo, I did mean to open again Mika’s blog, but I ended up not having as much muse as I had hoped, and with other things I really want to focus on, I think it’s better if I close his blog before I actually start picking threads.

Sorry to the few people that I had already started chatting about thread, but I’d rather disappoint now than later when stories actually start forming!

As I have mentionned the first time I closed his blog, his main blog is now @arkschild and although he is currently not too active (and mostly 1x1 with his family), I migth eventually have an adult verse when adult Mika wants to interact. Or his canon story might actually evolve enough to have him somewhere mid teen and possibly visiting around Thedas.

Nothing quite certain except Mika is now at arkschild, and eventually I do want some form of possibility to interact in DAI.

I think it’s pretty obvious, but while I am still very much lurking around, my focus often need to be put elsewhere, and so I’m just... slow. But still definitely here!

Alexius hunched over, head on his knees, eyes burning though no tears would fall. He had failed – had failed the Elder One, had failed Felix. He had failed himself, and his home, and his name. He had even failed Dorian, someone he’d once considered a second son.

He took in a sharp breath at the sound of footsteps, and he slowly raised his head. When he saw Mika standing there, his gaze drifted to the elf’s left hand and the mark he knew it bore. His eyes dropped more, staring at the ground in front of the man. He held his breath when Mika used his full name to speak with him, wondering what would happen to him.

He let out his breath in a soft, disappointed sounding sigh. He wasn’t deserving of pity or sympathy. He didn’t deserve understanding. After all he’d done… death was to be his escape, the only proper response to the situation.

“I do not deserve your kindness or understanding,” he stated, his voice flat. “I do not deserve a kinder sentence than you would give if the situation were any other than me attempting to save Felix’s life.” He closed his eyes and let his head drop to his chest.

“I deserve to die for what I’ve done.”

The moment Alexius had looked at Mika, the young man knew something had broken inside the older mage. He frowned at the sigh, and his gaze hardened as Alexius spoke.

“A judgement needs to take into account all informations. You took a bad decision because you didn’t know all. I’m not going to make a mistake by conveniantly forgetting any of the facts. And the fact remained you weren’t a murderous, uncaring man.” His voice lowered, almost like a growl as he added, “And Felix deserves his father.”

Mika took in a breath, pinching the bridge of his nose. Then he dropped his hand, voice soft again. “You will take the easy route if you die.” He stated bluntly. “Do you want Felix to remember you as the father that was executed for what he did, or do you want Felix to remember you as the father who worked all his life to atone?” He breathed out a laugh, though there was enough softness to show he wasn’t mocking. “Do not think I would have given any other sentence. My brothers taught me by his actions that if you make a mistake, you must work to atone for it, even if you might never be forgiven.” He pounted a finger at Alexius. “The only difference is what I feel about why you did it. Some will think it is wrong that you chose your son’s fate over the world. But you won’t be working to be forgiven. You will be working to show that you know you made a mistake, and are working to fix what can be fixed.”

Soft footsteps betrayed the visitor before he showed, however it was one that might not be expected. Auburn hairs and ice blue eyes, the elf that now stood in front of the cell was one most in Haven recognized without any need of glancing at the left hand.

Mika’s expression was neutral as he gazed at Alexius, arms crossed. The way his eyes went over the man though, suggested he was in fact, checking if he had been treated roughly or not. They had, after all, only been back recently to Haven, after the event that lead to Alexius’ arrest.

I don’t know if Allen would be more angry or amused that I was thrown through time...

Then, a faint smile showed. “There’s one thing I wanted to tell you, Gereon Alexius.” Fingers tapped his arms, and his voice was soft. The jail’s guard more than likely thought Mika was, in a sense, scolding.

But the next words would tell Alexius it wasn’t the case. “If your actions could have caused dark events and might still do, that’s the only thing you might want to regret. That, and not discussing with your son. But personally, I see nothing wrong with wanting to save your child.”

His smile widened a bit, a chuckle leaving his lips. “Heaven knows my dad wouldn’t hesitate to rip into the fabric of time, if he thought it would save me.” Quiet, Mika added, “Or that I would, to save him.”

A paused, and Mika scratched the back of his head. “So... Just atone for the bad that caused, okay? I’ll make sure you aren’t punished harshly.”

So I finished up making my Guidelines and Profile page, I still need to make a Navigation, but now I’m really back here.

I’ll probably reach out to a few people first, I know I need to discuss starter(s) with @always-the-fall-guy and @multiplexmusiss (hi hello yes I’m finally here for good).

So, rather obviously, after saying I was almost done being ready to open the blog again, I got busy. I still plan to finish the pages and open the blog again, but not sure when it will be. I’m not saying it’ll take weeks and weeks but I’m going to be tentaively cautious about soon finishing up here. I do have a few things I want to do, and they’ll take priority over Mika’s blog here. But wish me luck!

I’ve finally worked on Mika’s rebooted pages, they still need some reading over and adjusting, but that means I’m going to open him again soon enough.

Sooo I’m likely to approach a few people again, though you can poke at me if you want to interact again, I’m not going to get too greedy on threads but Mika is making eyes toward some of his previous partners so.

I’m back, rebooted but back!

I’m chatting with @thenoahfamily with who Mika’s new background has been formed with, and I just realized the angst there will be because this “new” Mika will have a family he loves (including an adopted brother I am pretty certain he spends a lot of time withn and an adopted father he absolutely adores), and he’ll find himself separated from them with no real way of being in touch.

He will of course lie/only say partial truth, but he won’t even be able to pretend he’s been an apostate, because he knows he will be unable to keep himself from speaking of his family. And he might honestly not even think of pretending he lost his family, because his mind just, cannot think of the Noahs dead.

My boy will be a poor boy who is missing his family and tries not to show it, whiiiiich also mean he will be very, very annoyed at Corypheus for having the Rift happen (which is the reason Mika cant leave Thedas). Like I mentionned, his first/true goal is to back home, and for that he needs to close the Rift.

And he doesn’t want headaches so he figures pretending to be a normal (albeit magical) elf and yes yes I care about the world lets do an Inquisition, will save him headaches.

I’ve saved to a sideblog the pages I used to have, and adjusted how the theme looks. I’ll be slowly working on making new pages and maybe have other “background” drabbles.

But yes, it’s pretty official now I do want to come back around here, if with a Mika that still has the same core and initial background, but who grew up in the DGM world instead of with Clan Lavellan. Actual crossover parts might be minimal, in the sense that I fully intend to say Mika can’t leave Thedas because the Rift preventing dimensional crossing, but still I hope it’ll be an interesting twist to interact with~

In which Mika as a child is adorable, feelsy, and funny all together, having his magic finally wake and having to handle it in another world. Or, a little snippet of Mika growing up (I might do more too, so intoduce a bit the rebooted backstory?)

Logically, Mika didn’t have to worry about Templars anymore. Logically, there was no knowledge of the demons and the Beyond, of prejudices against magic users. Yet, the little elf still thought that it would be best to hide his magic, to train it on his own.

Part of him still feared his magic might not be welcomed, and he was still young enough that he couldn’t brush it off. Maybe he did want too, to have a nice control before he told his papae. Maybe he also didn’t want to put more on Adam’s shoulders. He had so much to deal with, and Mika could deal with his magic on his own. There wasn’t much he could do about Allen, and Tyki, and Joyd and Nea. So he did what he could. Comforting, and handling the little magic problem.

Problem, because blasted magic was so wild. Probably because he was not in his world, and while it had been hard at first to draw from the Beyond, once he figured the trick, well. Let’s say there was no Veil to barrier magic. He had been sooo glad no one was close enough to hear the bang, when he finally made a lightning bolt-and fried the door.

Hello!

So it’s been a while and I guess it might be a surprise to see me around, hopefully a good one. I haven’t been able to stay in touch as much as I would have like to, a big part because the time since I closed the blog have been stressful.

As it is, the good new is that I might open it again? However, I wouldn’t pick up any old threads, it would be more like a reboot. I’m likely to save pages to a sideblog (basically save the theme and pages). But yes I find myself willing to try again interacting within Inquisition/DA.

Here’s the things to know: first off, that’s not yet a thing that happens now. Might be in a few days or in a week or two. I would also not have my main focus here, but it’s likely it would be my second active blog (I have only one right now, while three others are basically just, semi active). Most important would be that while it will be still Mika, it would be the grown up version of the Ark’s Child verse.

Meaning, it wouldn’t be “Mika Lavellan” but just, lone elf Mikaela who’s keeping even more secrets. Unless he’s unapologetically uncaring what people think of who he is. Anyway, he would have grown in another world (raised by the Noah clan of DGM, if a canon au). His real goal would honestly be to just, close the Rift and go back home (because the Rift preventing that). Of course, things would feel harder if he gets attached.

Sooooo yes, I might come back soon, with an even more canon au Mika to offer. I’m likely to reach out again to a few people I’ve known, slowly get my bearings again, once the blog is indeed open again. I don’t think I’ll change mind, so it is a solid news that I’ll open this blog again. I’ll just be slow about it.

So here’s the thing: I’ve mentionned how Mika-muse seemed to not be quite there after my unplanned break this summer, and I’ve been trying to catch up since then, having once or twice enough inspiration to write drafts.

I genuinely wanted to try, and at first felt the wish to return. But this whole unplanned break also made me realize that RP drained my energy, and that it’s only when I have genuine inspiration that I can rp without, pretty much, harming my creativity.

I realized I was guilt, after a bit, that made me try still to write here. But it grew blatant that I didn’t have anymore the right inspiration for this blog when the only thread I could do was one was had nothing to do with Inquisition. I love what I have here, I fully aimed to continue them all, but I hit a wall before I realized it.

So, yes, this a post to say that I am putting this blog in full break. I don’t believe I will return to it, as I’ve overall grown a desire to stop all RPing that drains me more than it makes me happy.

This is not a full goodbye though, for a few reasons. I have a fanfic writer blog at @chrisemrysblog and a writer blog at @homeofwriter so these are where to find stories from me, where fanstory or original. And Mika is still present as a muse, but solely in the Ark’s Child verse that formed. I made a sideblog @arkschild for it, though do know that while a possible Inquisition sidestory has been pondered over when Mika gets older, it isn’t the main focus. I might not even take many interactions outside of his adopted family, but if you still want to see Mika it’s there you will find him.

I thank all of you who’ve written with me, for the patience you showed to which I genuinely apologize for not rewarding. I am, of course, still very open to anyone who wish to remain in contact, as most of you remains friends I’ve made over the time I’ve been here.

If not, then I wish you a good road, as I’m still thankful for the time spend together!

      It was nice to view someone as a son. Someone to raise as his own. He would even school him, or place him in the same school as Road. That way Road can help him along. Road already liked Mika. She viewed him as a relative, whether it was little brother or cousin, she wasn’t sure.

      “Brother and sister or cousins. And I am sure they will,” Adam reassured and gave him a little bounce.

     “Yeah, he’s special, and so aren’t you. You need a thunderstone to evolve to your final form. And at first you need happiness to evolve into Pikachu~.”

      “You’re right, fluffy and protective!” the Earl replied. “So Tyki, you going to hang out with Allen this Halloween or come with us? Allen is welcome to come with~.”

      “Nah, we’re just spending the holiday without each other. But Christmas and my birthday, he is definitely coming. Anyways, you guys wanna sit on the couch so you can watch me play Pokemon?”

Mika had been loved with his mother, so he had not quite felt the missing father, as his clan had also been watchful and loving. He would wonder at times, but he was happy. With the loss of his mother and clan, feeling that he had found a father, sensing the parental love born toward him, Mika felt happy. Very happy. And grateful.

He smiled at the Earl, then looked at Tyki. “Me too? That sounds adorable though, evolving through happiness!”

A little frown found its way on the elf’s face. “Won’t he be lonely? I’m happy you’re here, but Allen... Haven’t you mentionned you two travel together? So he’s alone right now? Does he not like Halloween?”

Then his eyes brightened. “I will see him then?” Mika started to nod, glancing at his papae. “Yes, please?”
