Each kitty is designed with care and thought, using colors and symbols that reflect the disability it represents.

Our Mission & Purpose
The Disability Kitties are being created with a simple but powerful goal: to provide positive representation for disabilities and disorders in a way that feels validating, comforting, and uplifting.
Why They Exist
Disabilities and neurodivergence are often misunderstood, stigmatized, or ignored in mainstream media and everyday life. Many people grow up feeling isolated because they donāt see themselves represented in ways that feel accurate, respectful, or affirming.
The Disability Kitties aim to change that by offering designs that:
Raise awareness about different disabilities and neurodivergent conditions.
Encourage conversations about accessibility, acceptance, and understanding.
Normalize awareness and support for different disabilities and disorders in a way that is soft, gentle, and approachable.
A Symbol of Support
These kitties are more than just cute designsāthey are a symbol of recognition and belonging. Whether someone has a disability themselves, knows someone who does, or simply wants to show support, the Disability Kitties want to serve as a reminder that all experiences are valid and that representation matters.
Design Concept
Each Kitty is designed with care and thoughtfulness, using colors, patterns, and details to try to reflect the condition it represents. Every kitty follows the same core design while incorporating elements that make it unique and meaningful.
Key Features:
Button Eyes & Stitched Details ā A signature look that gives the kitties a soft, handcrafted charm.
Flag-Inspired Colors ā Each kittyās colors are based on pride and support flags, ensuring accurate representation. Flags are selected from the community or made by members of the studio.
Consistent Yet Unique ā While all Kitties share the same base design, their colors and extra details highlight the condition they represent.
Symbolic Additions ā Some kitties include extra design elements (like patterns or specific placements of colors) to reflect aspects of the disability.
Inclusivity & Representation
Disabilities and neurodivergence are incredibly diverse, and no two experiences are exactly alike. The Kitties aim to represent as many disabilities as possible, making sure that people from all walks of life can see themselves reflected in this collection.
Growing Representation
A Work in Progress ā The collection is always expanding, with new kitties being added over time.
Open to Suggestions ā If a condition isnāt represented yet, suggestions are always welcome!
Awareness Through Visibility ā The goal is to normalize and support all kinds of disabilities and disorders, whether physical, mental, visible, or invisible.
Why It Matters
Disabilities and neurodivergence are often overlooked, misunderstood, or stigmatized in everyday life. Many people grow up feeling invisible or invalidated, struggling to find representation that truly reflects their experiences. The Kitties want to help change that.
More Than Just Awareness
These kitties arenāt just about spreading awarenessātheyāre about recognition, pride, and comfort. They serve as a gentle but powerful reminder that disabilities are a natural part of life and that those who live with them deserve to be seen, understood, and celebrated.
Fostering Understanding ā When disabilities are represented with care, it helps break down misconceptions.
A Symbol of Pride ā Disability isnāt a weakness, and these kitties help reinforce that itās okay to take pride in who you are.
Offering Comfort & Validation ā Whether someone has a disability, is neurodivergent, or simply wants to show support, these kitties provide a sense of belonging and recognition.
Representation Matters
For too long, disabilities have been seen as something to hide or overcome. But disability is not a bad wordāitās a part of life, and it deserves to be acknowledged in ways that are respectful, affirming, and meaningful.
Get Involved & Support
The Disability Kitties are a labor of love, created to bring visibility, validation, and comfort to those with disabilities and neurodivergence. But representation is always growing, and you can help make it even better!
Share & Spread Awareness ā Help normalize conversations about disabilities by sharing resources and being open with communication about these aspects of life. And feel free to share this project with those around you as well! Visibility makes a difference!
Suggest New Designs ā If a condition isnāt represented yet, suggestions are always welcome! The goal is to include as many disabilities as possible in a way that is accurate and respectful.
Suggest Flag Designs ā Some disabilities and neurodivergent conditions donāt have widely recognized flags. If you have ideas for new flag designs, your input can help shape future kitties!
Adopt a Kitty ā If the Kitties become available for purchase, consider getting one for yourself or as a gift to show support and raise awareness.
Be Part of the Conversation ā Representation matters, and fostering discussions about accessibility, inclusion, and disability pride helps make the world a more understanding place.
Volunteer to Help in the Studio ā If you're interested in contributing directly, there may be opportunities to help with the creation process, whether through design, organization, or production.
Why Your Support Matters
Every little actionāwhether itās sharing, suggesting, or simply recognizing disability representationāhelps build a more inclusive and understanding world. Disability is not something to be ignored or erased, and we can make sure itās acknowledged with care, respect, and pride.
