The Difference between a Biscuit and a Cookie || Fandral + Kitty
He is not entirely sure what Kitty had said about Thor - something about a toddler? He would certainly disagree if he knew the words meaning, although in the quiet of his mind, he does neet constant observation and a gentle push in the right direction once or twice, to keep his temper from escalating.
Well, used to. He had grown up a lot since he’s been on Midgard. Fandral wished for himself the same growth in character.
"I am not aware I needed to fulfill a task fit for my profession." But now that he knows he will ask Lady Sif if she needs his service for the next hunt, or if there anything she wants protected.
He wouldn’t want to offend the city rules.
He’s either an Asgardian or a very dedicated Renaissance fair type, Kitty is sure of it now. She needs a good way to pose the question.
"Unless someone is paying your rent, you’ll probably need a job sometime soon. The unfair and unspoken rule of New York is that rent is unreasonably high and jobs are unreasonably hard to come by." She pauses. "Did you have a, uh, job where you used to live?"
Aside from the other two possibilities, he could just be a clueless rich guy who lives in his own little fantasy world, and speaks like someone in a Masterpiece Theater Special completely out of choice.
He does not understand most of what she is telling him, which makes him feel slow and dumb - both things he is not used to feeling which make him upset.
Not with her, but with himself.
"I am staying with Lady Maria of the Shield. I have not been made aware that I need to repay her for food or lodging." In the same second he wonders if perhaps Thor has already handled this, and he has just not been told about it.
The other question is much more easier to answer, which is why he focuses on that next, with renewed interest.
"I am a Warrior." He loudly tell her, chest filled to the brim with pride. "I give my Sword for the King and protect my home in time of need."
He has had more time for travel before. But the realms need them now, Asgard needs them now. And right this second - Thor needs them, the soon-be-King.
