Last night I dreamed that someone invented a new version of chess called Rookmeo and Juliet where two rooks are in love and trying to run away together. To achieve this they have to make it to the other side of the board, but these rooks don't have any visible signs to differenciate them from the rest, just a small mark in their base. Neither of the players knows what rook from the other side is in love with their rook, so they have to play a regular game of chess, fully aware that they might unknowingly kill the lover of their rook. If they kill it, the game keeps going, but their rook betrays them, switches sides and turns into a second queen for the other player. People wrote a ton of essays about the symbolism and metaphors of that version of chess and the creator didn't have the heart to tell them that he simply invented it because he thought Rookmeo was a great pun

Hello! Here's another sequential based on the Simon Snow trilogy books by @rainbowrowell. This one is a scene from Wayward Son in Chapter 21 when Simon and Baz are messing around with foam swords at a renaissance fair during their trip to America.

Obviously Red (Taylor’s Version) is empowering for so many reasons… but the vault tracks and new All Too Well lyrics show us that the original Red album was so censored.

Nothing New is a twenty times more devastating version of The Lucky One that shows her crippling insecurities and how they manifest in her in some unhealthy ways. (OG Red Taylor NEVER talked about drinking, nevermind admitting she’d had too much to drink.)

The blatant admittance in Run that Taylor distrusts her friends who don’t support her romantic relationship and she’d rather escape into isolation to be with her partner and how that is textbook victim of abuse who doesn’t realize it.

Forever Winter highlights how toxic and abusive her relationship was, that her lover was falling apart, wasted at 5:00am and she’s calling to check up on him scared for her life that he’s going to leave her.

And All Too Well (10 Minute Version) shows us how earth shattering that breakup was for her. We don’t just hear her searching for her old self and feeling like a crumpled up piece of paper, we hear about her lifeless, maimed corpse.

Whether by force or intense pressure from the men in charge of her at the time, the original Red album held back so much of the raw, intense emotional struggles Taylor was experiencing at the time. For Taylor to release those thoughts and feelings now, fully uncensored, is a glorious doubling down on the power and strength of her vulnerability.

So basically, fuck the patriarchy.

if you practice tarot, what's your top 5 favorite cards to get?

Wow love this one! Also I've never really thought about it.

1) Nine of cups. I mean that's to be expected, it's a really positive card. I always get it when things are gonna be chill for awhile.

2) Six of cups. It usually shows up when my mercury is activated (perhaps cuz it's water (cups) and in the sixth house on the sixth degree..btw I'm born on 6.6. so i feel this makes it even more FATED in my chart) and I'm in this cocky childish tricksterish state which i enjoy a lot. It also brings a lot of nostalgia which is an emotion i particularly revel in.

3) Ace of wands. I take it as a call to action that's gonna go well if i just push it. One of my greatest Capricorn fears is I'll push super hard for something and I'll still fail and it will leave me feeling powerless. When this card shows, it usually means to me action won't feel like "effort" but like something that motivates me even further regardless what the end result would be.

4) Knight of swords. Not sure if it's necessarily a good omen but it means things are gonna get stirred up and I'll be in that headspace where i can use my detachment and sharpness for good. Which i love. Also same goes partly for Queen of swords tho it usually means I'll be protected or inspired by an air sign woman (which is the story of my life lmfao)

5) Temperance. This card doesn't show often in my readings and it's perhaps the hardest one to read. I'm not sure what it means and i feel like understanding it is a big part of my journey. So when it shows it always means growth in a very fulfilling direction. I connect this card to a "calling".

Honorable mention for the Sun - i feel connected to this card, maybe cuz i just looove the sun archetype a lot (and the sun itself lmfao). Even when it's reversed it still somehow shows for me I'm feeling in alignment with myself.

Also the cups are usually a good omen for me in general.
