Two days later and I’m still not over it!! 5x grand slam champion jannik sinner!! I was getting so irritated after the rg loss when people were handwringing about him never winning a slam again as if 4 wasn’t already a great achievement and like he said in his post final press conference, it’s not a failure to not win a slam. But he went and did it and ahhh so happy for him!!
I actually didn’t get to watch a lot of the tournament bc I was on holiday but I did get to go to day 10 and see noskova v mertens and it was amaaaaaazing! Noskova worked her way onto my client list during her Beijing run last year and I’m sooooo happy I got to see her live and so happy she won!
I was at the Scottish Open during sinner v djokovic running up my international data charges trying to keep up with the match 😅
Luckily I was on a plane during muchova v noskova so I could give it my undivided attention and sinner v zverev was when I was rotting in bed recovering from two weeks of travel lol.
I never doubt that Jannik is going to win but I was extra confident after that SF bc there was just no way anyone was going to hold level long enough to beat him and low and behold that’s what happened. The rat gave two competitive sets but lost steam in the 2nd set tb and never got his level back up giving us that beautiful 10th W in a row.
