This obsession with Jannik throughout the tennis world isn’t normal and it’s making it increasingly difficult for me to follow him on social media. It’s not possible that the conversation constantly swings from complete infantilization to total condemnation from his own fans and that’s not even counting the haters. People need to get a grip

oh people have DEFINITELY blown this out of proportion, it’s like no one lately is capable of being fucking normal about him wether they’re a fan or a hater! even before RG there was a lot of insane discourse surrounding him

Do you think jannik will ever aknowledge that he's not coping well with heat (in a way he can't change it)? To me it feels like he's completely in denial to the press at least and i get it because it makes him vulnerable and i bet it really gets to you mentally but to the outside (to me) it really seems like he's just ignoring the problem and always using an excuse like bad sleep etc. I hope one day he realises that it's not making him a weak person. I guess never give your opponents anything to work with but the heat is here to stay and i really do not want to see him get a heat shock

well to be honest i think he's very well aware of his problems in the heat already, and he's never denied them. i also think that in the last match he lost the heat wasn't a problem, or at the very least it wasnt the main factor. i know pretty much everyone has been ignoring what jannik himself has said during his press con and assumed he's lying for .. reasons, even if admitting he’s not great in certain temperatures has never been a problem for him before. but he was the first one to say that the weather was fine to play in, and to be honest, he's not some weak child with no conditioning at all like some people want to think. he was also trying to shorten the points and not running after every ball since the beginning of the match and the breaking point arrived way too soon even if you want to believe he has zero resistance at all (which we know it’s not true). so yeah i think he’s open about his overheating problems and he’s doing what he can to solve them (like training during the hottest hours of the day in indian wells) while at the same time he definitely had something else going on at RG. i’m not sure what specifically but at this point does it even matter?
