i’m so so tired of seeing people apply christian ideals, symbols, and trauma onto house md as a show because it’s so anti christian that the only main character of whom christianity is important only ever uses his faith for his own personal goals / in his favor (chase). you don’t have to explore judaism or agnosticism or atheism in your fan content or the show but you can’t just paint over all of it with christianity and expect me to be happy about it!!!

also here’s the worst example of this i’ve found as engagement bait or whatever happens on other social medias nowadays

House hot takes?

(taking this to mean ‘gregory house hot takes’ and not ‘house md hot takes’, mostly because my entire blog is arguably an archive of the latter lol)

probably my biggest one is that i think a lot—certainly not all, or even most, but a not-insignificant-amount—of house’s pain is psychosomatic. i think people misunderstand what psychosomatic actually means; it doesn’t mean that house’s pain is faked or exaggerated or ‘all in his head’. i think that all of house’s pain is ‘real’ and felt physically, including the parts that are exacerbated by social and emotional factors. but i don’t think that all of it is from the post-infarction wound or even from the vicodin addiction. house’s pain is exacerbated by his emotional and psychological state; that’s something the show pretty explicitly points at in s2 with his increase in pain post-stacy and cuddy’s fake morphine shot. and it is…kind of fascinating to me, that this take tends to garner a lot of ableism accusations when, if anything, i think it’s ableist in and of itself to automatically see the word ‘psychosomatic’ and interpret it as a synonym for ‘made-up’. house would still be a chronic pain sufferer even if all of his pain were psychosomatic—which, again, is not what i’m arguing, but hopefully you understand my point.
