The clouds pressing in like the sheets we wrapped you in; all consuming and filthy. I wish I could’ve had a day, an hour, a minute with the sun shining down where I could tell you how cold and awful it is without you;
The water trickling in everywhere, clothes soaking into you like stains, the washed out colours and godawful silence.
You should have stayed. We could have made this heaven. I would’ve fought for you; you know that.

I’m still growing, and that’s fine. I’ve got time. A little bit of love, a dash of sunshine, a cluster of friends, a long road ahead; it’s all part of the process.
I can’t wait to be bright yellow & smiling, hands sticky with paint.
I planted sunflowers in our garden and
they grew and grew and now,
they tower over me, smiling at the sun with their heads held high singing I’m alive! I’m alive!
I helped them grow and they are happy, so happy, so glad to be alive.
I’m happy I made it this far. I wish I could go back and tell myself about the flowers, the people who love me, the little things that make my day.

Hands covered in paint, bursting with joy.
