PLOTTING CALL 🦋
Hello everyone! It's good to be back, below the cut is every thread I'm interested in doing!

continued from.
HE WASN'T JUST IMAGINING IT. ❄︎ the enemies in this block of the city were stronger. dust and shards of ice scatter and break as he skids backwards from a blow of the shade's hefted axe haft to his stomach, something that only should've dislodged him from any normal opponent. it looked like any ordinary man in every other way, even wearing the same armor and uniform as the soldiers they'd been fighting and sleeping beside the past several days. this fragmentum——how close was it to mara? it'd been explained as aberrations born from the corruption of space, but could that really be it?
"tch, you're still no match," he utters obstinately to no one under his breath, straightening and sending another volley of gleaming blades flurrying toward the opponent like darting swallows. some shatter off the weapon raised to parry, others embedding in their mark and forcing the figure to stagger.
but this is only one. the moment it does, a glimpse of movement forces yanqing back on the defensive ; a leap saves him from the cleaving blow of another axe on his right, then the boom of a cannon narrowly missing its mark, flooding the air with smoky and misplaced heat that makes him cough. with teeth grit, blade lifts——clang——blocking the next strike, and he hurries to get his feet underneath him as blow after blow comes relentlessly, bearing down and forcing him across the ice-wetted street. at the first split-second opening, a fist strikes out instead of sword with a cry, flat-palmed blow to a pressure point at the center of the torso doubling the soldier in half, giving him just enough time to move away.
breathing hard, he scans the surroundings——behind the fragmentum line, two shapes coming out of an alley through the smog. more of them?
no, as sunlight gives the emergent forms new color, breath catches in his throat. people. theirs! that must be——"kallen!" he doesn't know which one that is, but a lift of icy wind carries him over the heads of the enemy to land lightly in front of both, dispersing the smoke as a cloud. gleaming sword raised defensively, he half-turns his head to look back at them without taking his eyes off the onslaught:
"please stay back. these monsters are stronger than the ones we've been seeing."
Aponia was lost in thought as she followed Kallen, imagining the chaos that the natives have to deal with on a day to day basis. She hates that people have to do this- no one should be forced to live like this.
Well, she'll keep these thoughts to herself, this isn't the place- nor time to bring it up. Just as Aponia was about to speak, the symphony of fighting echoed through the alleyway. Kallen had already rushed ahead, so Aponia quickly followed behind her.
Their rescue had indeed arrived, but Aponia hadn't expected someone so young to be so well-versed in fighting- nor this... capable in using ice. The last person she knew that could do that...
Ah the past always comes back in mysterious ways- Aponia smiles "Thank you, young man" Introductions can wait, Aponia turned to Kallen. "Surely it will be safer for us to help them out as we make a safe escape- Don't you think so?" She would feel terrible to leave them alone with this.

THE FROSTSPAWN'S DYING SCREECHES ARE CACOPHONOUS AND UNENDING. it's horrible, the sounds shimmering like ice as the fragmentum monster calls to its more-powerful companions, their distant forms growing closer and closer. then, suddenly, right before aponia turns to her, hand rough and voice stern — the sound disappears entirely. “okay, let's — ” another shriek, louder, more piercing, more devastating, cuts through the frigid air — as if beckoning, pleading for something like vengeance. instinctively, kallen reacts, firing her pistols until a bullet lands and delivers the final blow. its final wail is answered by a rumbling, thunderous roar. the silhouette of something much stronger than what they've encountered til now looms in the distance, rapidly searching for its fallen kin.
[combat]: enemy roll [4] — ally rolls [5, 1]. enemy takes -1 HP [0/10].
breathing deeply, she gives aponia a meaningful look — the expression of someone with the conviction to die here, with the commitment to keep her companions alive. “let's go.” as the two of them move, kallen keeps an eye out for any approaching monsters — though when the semi-familiar silhouettes of buildings reappear, she notices the duo they had seen earlier. a sinking feeling settles inside her. if these two are still here, then ... where did the new ones come from? are more fragmentum monsters spawning?
as they quietly and quickly avoid the lumbering shade and flitting frostspawn, kallen speaks up, “those were reinforcements!” she scans their surroundings for anything that might make it easier for them to hide, to gain higher ground. behind them, the large shadow continues to approach — slowly, but surely. ah! an alleyway! kallen darts toward the narrow space between the buildings, tugging aponia along with her. whispering urgently, kallen begins to rummage in her belongings as they move, “we must alert the others — ” she manages to fish out the walkie-talkie that they had been given before setting out.
pressing down firmly on the call button, in hopes that the device actually works, that the others will actually hear her — kallen begins to speak, a little breathless, “this is kallen. more fragmentum have appeared in our block. more than one. is this happening anywhere else? we haven't engaged yet, but we could use some assistance — ” before she can finish explaining, a sudden meteorite of ice crashes into the alleyway, narrowly missing them both. how had it gotten here so quickly?! kallen nearly drops the walkie-talkie, her voice fizzling out as she fumbles to catch it.
Once they were hidden enough, Aponia let out a breath of relief. She felt herself more relaxed, as if her muscles tensed up to a point that they couldn't move. She first checked over herself, no injury to crazy besides the scratch from the mother bear not that long ago.
She wondered if it was too late to return to base camp and rest- she should bring it up at some point, but first, Aponia had to check something. Facing the younger girl, Aponia made her way to Kallen before crouching down. "Your ankle, how is it? I know it has been a while but I wish to check if that is alright with you"
rest: aponia and kallen regain +3 HP
A soft hum rings through the air as once Aponia finishes checking Kallen's health, she finally treats her own injury. Everything seemed to happen so quickly- and that ice attack only made Aponia's nerves grow... but she had to concentrate.
"Don't worry- I am sure help is on the way.... We must relax so that our body can heal" She placed a firm hand on the girl's shoulder.

THE FROSTSPAWN SHRIEKS IN THE SOUND OF ICE FORMING, A SHIMMERING CRACKLE THAT ECHOES MORE THAN IT SHOULD. kallen leaps into action, alert to aponia's sudden distractedness, and aims at the creature's wings. the bullet sings through the air, lodging into the glass-like ice of the monster's body, and the monster staggers in the air — it shudders, persevering despite its wound. thinking that she's earned them at least a moment's respite, kallen turns to her companion in worry, “lady aponia, are you — !!”
[combat]: enemy roll [1] — ally rolls [5, 1]. enemy takes -4 HP [6/10]. [combat]: enemy roll [5] — ally rolls [1, 1]. allies take -4 HP [16/30].
something bright and harrowing suddenly explodes above the two of them, shards of ice scattering into their bodies, their thin edges scraping against exposed skin. kallen swears under her breath at her own carelessness and adjusts her grip on her pistols. still, the surprise attack has winded her — and only with aponia's support are her own retaliations able to do anything to their resilient opponent.
[combat]: enemy roll [4] — ally rolls [2, 6]. enemy takes -2 HP [4/10].
somehow, the frostspawn clings to life, to existence all the same. it screeches once more, a cry of pain and frustration and animal instinct. panting as she lands on her feet from leaping to attack, kallen glances toward aponia again, “just a few more hits!”
[reinforcements]: frostspawn, shade, ice out of space.
only ... from the corner of her eye, kallen notices — there are more fragmentum now, rapidly approaching. “shit!”
4 hours remaining ...
As one gets defeated, more enemies quickly get alerted of their presence. Aponia looks around frantically, she needs to make sure that there is still a way out.

The woman placed her hand on kallen's shoulder rather roughly, she didn't mean too- but perhaps its away to show the worry that wouldn't be normally seen on her face. The urgency in her voice was clear "We should move- they're being drawn to us"
The best case scenario would be to just return to camp better prepared and its not like they would be leaving empty handed. "Once were safe, we can re plan our moves- I just do not want anything to get to out of hand..."

AS THE FROSTSPAWN DARTS AWAY, APONIA RUNS AFTER IT SO QUICKLY. it takes kallen a split second to react, but soon, she's chasing after their enemy, too. far more evasive than their first opponent, the frostspawn flies to-and-fro in a zigzag pattern, seemingly desperate to evade its inevitable end. it leads the two women chasing it farther away from its initial location, dodging their attacks with surprising grace. still, aponia's previous attack has significantly wounded it — and it's unable to keep up the pace for much longer.
[combat]: enemy roll [3] — ally rolls [3, 4]. enemy takes -1 HP [2/10]. [combat]: enemy roll [2] — ally rolls [10, 1]. enemy takes -8 HP [0/10].
with a sudden burst of energy, kallen — sprinting up to the frostspawn frantically flapping its icicle wings — jumps into the air and swings downward. her gun smacks directly into the fragmentum creature, and it shatters. landing on her feet, satisfied, it takes her a moment to realize they're rather far-out, now, from where they were before.
“let's head back ... it is that way, right?” kallen glances behind them. they had made a few turns along the way, hadn't they? usually, she's not so bad at tracing her steps — but the unfamiliar landscape and the distortion of the fragmentum ... with a gesture signalling aponia to lead the way, kallen cautiously follows her companion, to keep an eye out for any previously-unseen fragmentum monsters. “er, lady aponia, are we sure th —- ?!”
[encounter]: roll [1] — encounter rolled: [8] you accidentally wander into a snow plains bear den.
a deafening roar cuts off kallen's question. then, as she scrambles backwards, unable to dodge the ferociously-swiping claw aiming for them both, kallen realizes, “a bear?! lady aponia, wait — ” she hesitates to aim her own weapons at the creature, noticing the two small cubs behind its towering, threatening frame. “look, it's — a mother.”
5 hours remaining ...
Aponia wasn't expecting getting jumped by a random animal- She didn't even think there COULD be animals around here. Her heart jumped to her throat as the bear stood in their way- and very obviously didnt intend on letting them go through.
She was ready to attack the bear, the butterflies fluttering around her until Kallen pointed out the frightened cubs behind the mother. Aponia extended her hand over to Kallen "Let us... just back up" It was a slow and tedious time, but until they were completely away from the bear's home did Aponia finally relax. "Thank you... hopefully the mother bear will remain calm." well, at least now they can continue what they were doing before hand.
Another frostspawn dashed by, but Aponia still being shaken by the encounter with the bear couldn't even focus.
combat : enemy roll [5] - ally rolls [5,5]. enemy loses -0 HP [10/10]
'Come on Aponia- you must concentrate' She thought to herself, shaking her head and lost in her own world.

BREATHLESS, KALLEN CAN ONLY WATCH IN AWE AS APONIA'S BUTTERFLIES COME TO HER RESCUE. inspired, she quickly adjusts, falling back slightly to give aponia more room. with her pistols in hand, she aims for the shade and fires — but her bullets seem to bounce right off of its reinforced armor. suddenly, soundlessly, the fragmentum monster lunges forward with its formidable axe, its sweeping swing careening toward kallen's companion — “lady aponia! watch out!”
[combat]: enemy roll [9] — ally rolls [7, 7]. allies take -2 HP [25/30]. [combat]: enemy roll [2] — ally rolls [6, 1]. enemy takes -4 HP [0/10].
a well-aimed shot shatters through the eternal ice engulfing — or comprising? — the fragmentum shade's face. at that same instant, its axe seemingly grazes aponia all the same — or is it kallen herself that it grazes? the shade disintegrates into a shimmer of smoking stardust, cold air, disorientation — and kallen grunts, wincing from the dull ache in her ankle, at her side. then, sucking in a breath to ground herself, she turns to her companion, quick to ignore her own injuries to confirm that aponia is all right.
as the two of them catch their breaths, kallen glances toward where she had seen more of the monsters. there they still are, preoccupied with — something, a part of a building, maybe? again and again, the bird-like things swoop in and peck at whatever it is. then, the sound of glass shattering. that can't be good.
“they're destroying the buildings ... let's go while they're distracted.” kallen tries to remind herself of aponia's earlier words — be careful. as they approach, the scene grows clearer. beyond the fragmentum frostspawn, another shade is hunched over something, its axe lodged against a broken window. the frostspawn closest to the two women seem almost to be vying for something — then one, seemingly defeated, swoops away, only to be drawn toward the sound of living things, the sound of kallen and aponia approaching.
kallen aims. one, two. the gunshots barely echo in the white terrrain.
[combat]: enemy roll [1] — ally rolls [5, 1]. enemy takes -4 HP [25/30]. [combat]: enemy roll [3] — ally rolls [9, 5]. enemy takes -6 HP [0/10].
the frostspawn dissipates, but its former companion seems to have noticed its absence. or, kallen is simply reading too much emotion into these beings of pure destruction. still, it doesn't come any closer, just yet. kallen points in the directionof the shade, instead. “... i think they're guarding something, over there.”
She quickly tried to move out of the way from the attack- gritting her teeth as she felt the icy touch graze her skin. Aponia pulls back, using the same butterflies as a quick get away. She checked her arm- looking to see if the weapon made a deep cut on her...
Thankfully, Aponia is well versed in battle, her wings spread open quickly, just so she could stay above ground.
Well, at least Kallen took care of the monsters- the woman gently floats down, walking to Kallen with a smile. "You have fantastic aim... and fantastic attention." Aponia's eyes darted towards the home "its getting dangerous- we should be more careful from now on." the hair on her arms stood up, chills traveled through her body, causing her to tremble in place.
THIS time, she wasnt going to give the enemy a chance.
combat : enemy roll [1] - ally rolls [8,2]. enemy loses -7 HP [3/10]
"its weak-" Aponia mumbled, her expression darkening "You should be able to..." but as if the creature could understand them- its suddenly darted away, and Aponia of course wasn't going to let that thing escape.

AS SOON AS THE FIRST SYLLABLE OF AGREEMENT LEAVES HER COMPANION'S LIPS, kallen rushes forward without warning. a sudden sprint, then a leap, then another — she jumps up, fingers digging into the shallow, decorative ledges against the wall. aponia's suggestion to be careful is half-lost to the wind. the snow and the frigidity make it harder than kallen remembers this being — and as she starts to shimmy both upwards and sideways toward the balcony, she wonders, will lady aponia be able to make it up, too? it's a silly question to think, in hindsight — after all, aponia had agreed to it. but in the moment, it's enough to get kallen to turn her head over her shoulder a little too quickly —
“shit!” she curses under her breath, gasping, briefly startled as she loses her footing. tightening her grip, she barely manages to catch her balance — to hold onto a serendipitous ledge just within reach. her feet kick a little frantically against the wall, the frozen glass of a window, the bricks — before they find purchase somewhere. it's more noise than she should've made, but at least, they're above ground, now.
kallen grits her teeth and tries to ignore the nascent embarrassment pulsing in her chest, quickly pulling herself up until she's anchored against the railing of the balcony. her attention flits first toward where she had last seen the wandering fragmentum — but now that she can see it, see ... him? — it looks less like something wandering and more like someone patrolling. is it getting closer? its path has changed. oh, no ... the noises she just made!
wait. before kallen can call out to aponia about the enemy's change in behavior, she catches sight of — more, at least three more, farther away, but drifting closer. “lady aponia, i — ” she shakes her head. apologies will have to come later. “there are more monsters a ways away. we should handle this one while it's still alone — ”
[combat]: enemy roll [4] — ally rolls [1, 1]. allies take -3 HP [27/30].
before she can finish speaking, the fragmentum shade below them suddenly raises its glistening axe — and runs straight toward them, swinging its weapon into the wall as if that would harm them. the dull side of the axe, reinforced by permanent cold, rattles against the building. kallen's grip slips again, but she makes the choice to let go — jumping down to swing at their enemy.
she misses. despite the layers of snow on the ground, her ankle twists as she lands on her feet. grimacing, she tries to ignore the pain radiating in her leg. “lady aponia, now!”
"wait-!"
but Aponia knows she didn't hear her- Out of the corner of her eye, before they made their move, Aponia swore she had seen the bright blue move towards Kallen. Without thinking - Aponia rushed after the woman before realizing she had lost the girl for a split moment.
Panic rushed through her, until she heard a voice ring out to her. She made her way to the source quickly, not being as careful as she normal is- bumping into things JUST to make it to the girl in time.
combat : enemy roll [2] - ally rolls [8,8]. enemy loses -6 HP
Aponia's butterflies cut through the enemy- pushing it far away from Kallen, just in time for Aponia to swoop in "Be careful- I can see that you hurt yourself from that fall" Her voice was kind but filled with worry "as soon as were done here- you should allow me to take a good look at your ankle" She stood close by, if Kallen needed her to lean against, she didnt mind at all.

THE PURE-WHITE LANDSCAPE IS A FAMILIAR-ENOUGH SIGHT, but even though it's been many days since the blizzard, kallen is still unused to just how cold the eternal freeze is. how strange it is — knowing that only a matter of days ago, these streets were bustling with people, visitors from afar and residents alike. her breathing fogs up in front of her as she walks a few steps ahead of her companion, overeager to prove her usefulness — to throw aside any consideration for herself. snow crunches faintly underneath their feet as they leave the tenuous safety of the base camp behind.
the honorable captain's words continue to rattle in kallen's head. defensive positions ... she had said she would be happy to take any task assigned to her for this operation, but in situations of war, she had almost always taken up the offense — usually, solo. after all, kaslanas work best alone. no, it won't do to think like this! just like her, everyone else here wants to help.
in the distance, as the snow-covered buildings yield to a curving road, glimpses of someone, no, something — fragmentum, surely? it gleams ... — pace back and forth, back and forth, out of sight as it moves behind a structure ...
“lady aponia, look — over there.” kallen whispers urgently, and whatever conversation they might have been having before disintegrates. she comes to an abrupt stop and shrinks behind a nearby wall. “we must be in an infested area already. the fragmentum cannot be allowed to encroach any further ... but how many are there, here?” kallen takes a few steps back, craning her head to evaluate the buildings around them for potential vantage points. “i see a balcony, up that way. it might give us a better view of the area.”
@disciplineswrath / 7 hours and 45 minutes remaining ...
Aponia covered her face with her hand, letting out a warm breath to bring them back from the freezing cold. She's glad that so many people showed up in this time of need, it made her feel at ease with the current problem at hand.
fragmentum... what a strange thing to exist- she found it rather horrifying that it could take shape of a human so easily..
She didn't know much about these enemies, but she decided to just keep going with her partner. Up until they reached over a hiding place, her eyes traveled to where her partner pointed towards. " A balcony?" Aponia mumbled- looking up at the balcony "Yeah... That seems like a wonderful idea. However... lets be careful... yes?"

ipc ★ finale: interastral derby! | qualifiers race #5
Bronya winces, as she bears witness to one of the Trotters colliding with one another. For a moment, she thinks about Borscht, and how she probably would be yelled at if anything bad were to happen to her.
turn 2: sprint! | [roll 5!] move 5 spaces | stamina remaining 1
Thankfully, Borscht’s focus and determination allowed her to maintain her sprinted pace, as she pulled apart from the other Trotters, avoiding collision as she crossed the line. A smile forms on Bronya’s face, satisfied at her little Borscht’s speed, and ecstatic to see her new companion qualify with ease. Proudly shaking her fist, Bronya turns to the taller purple haired woman, offering snacks for the group. There were a lot of snacks in hand, that she would’ve expected to find were she to take a trip to a Japanese convenience store.
A celebratory onigiri wouldn’t hurt a bit, right? “I’ll take an onigiri, if you’re offering.” Bronya steps over to gently take one from the woman’s hands. She bows before she begins to unwrap the snack. “Thank you very much. You’re a kind person.”
Aponia was mystified by these little guys.
'To The Future' was quite cute and seemingly ready to win the race- but Aponia doubted her own skill in training the weird.. creature. Before the race she gave the trotter a supportive pat, and a smile! it was meant to be encouraging but... sometimes she's been told that the smile can.. scare the unprepared.
She didnt have time to exchange words with her team before the race began, watching as To The Future did what they do best: run
Turn 1: To The Future sprints [ Roll: 4 ] Stamina remaining: 3
Aponia claps softly "Woo..! Go my dear" She cheers softly- before noticing that To The Future could crash into the other warp trotters!
Collusion! [ Roll: 5 ] Miss
"Oh... Thank goodness" She sighs in relief, before looking at the other two woman with her. "An onigiri?..." She reach out with a smile "Thank you very much..." She looks back at the race, watching as To The Future kept their steady pace.
Turn 2: To The Future runs [ roll: 2 ] Stamina remaining: 2
and then we drop a chandelier on em
Previews for the Golden Theater's new show are now live. This season's production of 'Neverwinterland' is meant to celebrate Belobog's triumph over destruction, and was written especially for the Solwarm Festival. There's just one problem, however… During the first night of open rehearsals, the big geomarrow centerpiece collapses onstage! Thankfully, no one's been horrifically injured, but the production's been put on a pause. Witnesses say that they saw a shadowy figure in the wings at the time of the incident. Is this sabotage from a trounced performer, jealous of the principal cast? A simple accident? Or is there something more supernatural at play? Phantoms of all kinds love to linger onstage, after all. (starter for @disciplineswrath)
Even through the closed doors to the frigid outside, through the halls stacked with dense, plush carpet and warmed by the light of antique fixtures, the bombastic notes of the overture spilled into the air to dance with the snowflakes in the late afternoon sun. Rehearsals had been running for some days now, but as opening crept ever closer, things needed to be stitched together to form the cohesive unit that audiences would gasp and cry over, to find shared delight and movement in.
Even under the powder and the sweat, the steaming breaths of everyone gathered and the dust shivering down from the far corners of the high rafters, Kalpas could smell her perfume. It was the familiar scent that wrapped its shackles around his throat and made the corner of his lip curl into nearly a snarl, more effective than any manmade chain.
It distracted him as much as it grounded him, infuriated as much as soothed him, reminded him that there was a place he had once thought of as home, and everything that came with that.
"Sir? Sir, if you could project - ?" The director had been reticent about taking them on as his performers, anxious more it seemed at the idea of a poor performance than he was at the thought of his primadonna being squashed by something falling on her head.
The fact that he had nearly stood his ground when he'd asked Kalpas to remove his mask was something Decimation had never quite seen, a quivering waif of a man around an iron spine. Regardless of outcome, it was impressive that he had tried.
Kalpas exhaled once, short and sharp through his nose, as though that would clear it of the stench of pollen and indigo flowers, flicked his eyes upward to the heavy spotlight.
"Line," he demanded, a curt grunt.
She had always been a fan of theater. The work that goes into perfecting every movement, every gesture, was inspiring. When she was given the chance to appear at the preview, how would she be able to say no?
What Aponia wasn't expecting was seeing him here as well. It's not that she didn't believe someone like Kalpas could enjoy this type of entertainment... But more the fact that Kalpas made time to be here. A quiet hum of acknowledgement was all she wanted.. But it's clear no matter where she goes, something has to happen.
That makes life entertaining, the unpredictable... She can't lie that it makes her feel uneasy.
His voice echoes , demanding as... Always. "You can't remember your line?" Her voice perks up ".... Shouldn't you have a script to read from?" Soft footsteps approached him, hesitantly. "I can give you a copy if that's the case." Aponia froze where she was, like if there was a wall preventing her from going any further.
Even if your face has more wrinkles now, it's okay
Aponia & Eden
"Oh, yes! That sounds darling."
"I'm afraid I don't have much to catch up about," she muses. "I simply woke up here, among the clouds. I knew some of our Flame Chasers are about, but..." She casts Aponia a sidelong glance, mournful but delighted.
I didn't dare hope. The words never come, though, her breath drifting off into the breeze. Seeing anyone from her past life had been extra special, but Aponia was almost a tier above the rest. Not that Eden would have special preference for anyone at MOTH; Aponia was simply far more agreeable than most. Whereas Eden could fill a room, her companion was a quiet contrast, and for this she found her company perfectly complementary. Eden hooks her hand under the woman's elbow, requesting her physically, entwining up her arm.
She motions them towards a nearby cafe, and the pleasant coffee aroma invites them inside.
"How are you finding things, here, in this time? Do you miss anything? Anyone?"
Aponia took note of her expression, of her mannerisms. Eden was always careful with how she should act around Aponia, the woman never said anything.
"Yes, some of them are here" Aponia agreed, nodding hesitantly. She still felt unsure about everything, about being alive- about rekindling lost connections.
The coffee was a nice distraction from her thoughts, Aponia's eyes meet the glass display showing simple pastry to go along with their drinks. She was already deciding what she wanted to eat before even looking at the menu.
"This one" Aponia points at a small cake "we could share this while we have our coffee..." She seemed... rather excited to try it despite how simple it looked on the inside.
Even if your face has more wrinkles now, it's okay
Aponia & Eden
She doesn't wait for her recognition to kick in.
Her feet don't pick up at a sprint, nor does she seem to rush, but there is a warm hurry in the way that Eden moves towards Aponia. She barely outstretches her arms before they wrap themselves around Aponia's back, cradling her friend has she would a priceless sculpture. And Aponia is art, to her, as any woman is— ethereal and magnificent, a treasure to share their presence with. Eden's floral scent pours over her, enveloping her, plunging in over her shoulder, nocking her chin in the crook of her neck.
"It's truly a wonder," Eden marvels, her breath tickling Aponia's skin. "Welcome home."
She unhooks herself after a beat, a languid smile playing on berry lip-gloss, before diving back in for a kiss on either cheek. It does little to dispell lingering grief that she can't help in her gaze, whenever she looks to Aponia's eyes. Maybe another kiss would help...
"Come? Let's catch up, dear Aponia. Death clearly doesn't take for people like us."
@disciplineswrath !
Aponia wasn't doing much, she had some plans but taking the time to relax was essentially. So when someone sneaked up behind her- her eyes widened and she was ready to protest. However that familiar voice spoke up, and Aponia relaxed.
Eden was different, she always had a way with her words. Aponia and her were close, closer than the rest of Flame-Chasers were.
But the memories made her tense up again, she couldn't tell if this was real or not. "Eden" Aponia mumbles, feeling the love that the red head was willing to express. She gently leads the other woman carefully, not wanting to hurt her feelings. "It is good to see you again." Aponia spoke with a delicate tone, she was careful, just in case.
"I would love to catch up with you" She said, tucking some of the hair out of her face. "Would you like to go to a cafe perhaps? I wouldnt having a nice drink."
Rebirth Blooms Again
Seele and Aiponia
Seele had slowly gotten more used to Belobog. Once over her initial fears and anxieties, it started to feel like home. Although home didn’t have a little girl stealing a flower via vandalization.
She felt for the little girl. She sounded young so Seele signed up to the cause to hopefully avoid the rather rougher searchers getting to her. The search was not very hard. Even if Seele turned in her flowering white dress for a black and purple more form-fitting bodysuit, it didn’t erase her status as the Herrscher of Rebirth and by extension, Life. Plus this outfit drew much less attention to herself.
She turned the corner only to be met by another woman before the frightened child. Was Seele too late?
“Excuse me?” She asked quietly, almost a whisper. A small part of her was ready to manifest her scythe should it come to it but she hoped it wouldn’t.

"it's alright – please don't cry" Aponia's voice was gentle.. but of course to any child a stranger would be scary "I will not turn you in, just try to stay calm" barely above a whisper, Aponia crouched down to the height of the girl. "if you don't want to give me a reason, you don't have to but... Maybe hearing your side of the story will help" would a child understand? The little girl seems hesitant as is.
That's when a voice rang out from behind her, this made the situation a little more complicated. Aponia stood and took a deep breath– she shouldn't attack at sight, especially in front of a child. The woman turns around, placing her hands where they were visible. I'm unarmed Aponia wanted that to be clear but I'm not one to be taken lightly.
"Hello" Aponia finally spoke, her eyes quickly studied the girl in front of her "How can I help you?" She instinctively stood in front of the sniffling child, she wasn't sure if this was friend or foe.

In response to a chilling distress call made by Ernest Cranebill, the IPC has called for volunteers to go to the now-defunct planet of Empyrea in order to evacuate whichever people remain, as well as to investigate the mysterious manner of its deterioration. Be prepared—lingering Destructive energy may prove dangerous to the body. Best to find protective gear, or at least wear a mask. (starter for @disciplineswrath)
Shenhe could not have been convinced to leave. There had been no amount of higher authority, no enforcement or press of caution from any source, which could have dragged her away from the goal that she had set for herself, once she had begun to discover the dark failings of this resort. It was not merely that so many had lost their lives, or that there remained those shady and underhanded who would exploit both worker and visitor alike.
It was that she had seen Destruction, that she had held it in her hand, and she had not continued on until it had been crushed to dust beneath her heel.
Just as the resort had failed, so too had she.
There remained a throng of people on the island, trapped by circumstances or rooted by the desire to assist, and more still coming in to lend aid – it was convenient, these kind hearts, willing to buoy the spirits with whatever they had to offer. That was not something that she was quite so skilled at, in spite of the better part of effort.
"It's all right," she said stiffly to the woman clutching her hand, feeling the ragged fingernails drag across her palm. In a single motion, she heaved the woman upward onto her own shaky legs, and in another the woman dropped to her knees once more. A grunt, then the motion repeated, a bracing hand to the woman's back. "If you are injured, then I will escort you towards medical assistance."
At least she had the tact to say that it was a waste of her time to try, knowing that she didn't possess those skills. Another thing to be thankful for, whichever arrival did, and she guided the woman carefully to a copse of tents for triage.
"Excuse me. I can't stay long, but this woman needs assistance. Please," she added, in afterthought.
The number of people lying on makeshift beds after the ones provided by the aid were quickly filled. It made moving around the tent incredibly hard. Volunteers and medical staff were already at wits' end, running to and fro in a controlled panic. Aponia was calm despite the inner turmoil that plagued her body. Exhaustion and fear made for a nasty mix.
When the white-haired woman walked in with another injured, Aponia was the first to meet them. She gave a bright yet tired smile "I see, you can lay her here on the empty bed" she gently guided the pair before nurses crowded the injured woman.
"Miss, you should rest before you go back out there- we have fresh water for rescuers" Aponia pointed towards a cooler and plastic cups lying on the table. "The worst thing that could happen to us is losing a rescuer because they haven't had the chance to take care of themselves."

When they had asked him for assistance, he knew they had looked past his horns and rather lackluster build for what it was: a fair pair of hands to lead to assistance. Of course, once they had seen his claws and how his hands had enough cartilage to rip through pesky rubble like concrete and rotting steel, he could feel the change in their demeanor. Trepidation and the growing disquiet among the helpers and members of staff are pushed aside for now as he raises what would have been a roofing structure to allow them passage to a sinkhole they had scanned for—they were far too busy with the looming death of innocents upon their shoulders to confront him yet.
While they are hammering their rescue lines and their equipment into the stable ground while getting rope ready to lower themselves,he makes himself scarce as he finalizes looking between them. They vary in age, obvious reputation, and bodily stature all while undergoing severe trauma for others' sake, doing as they can with far less than he has to do the minimal amount of assistance. He wants to move towards them and dive into the sinkhole instead of standing where the rubble had been, taking place of the stones he had just thrown away, but he couldn't move towards them. He had the body for this more than them and yet a glare sent his way has him turning around and silently walking away towards a tent for medicine.
Coward. Coward. As he walks the destroyed turf and jumps upon elevations to bypass shortcuts as if it was nothing, all while the people of this planet are on a timer—with how the air feels like gunpowder, his previous teams needing oxygen masks as mandatory equipment, he knew it was only time. Seaweed and algae running the ocean probably saved all their lives with how useful it was for oxygen creation but he was not going to ignore how the waves are less liquid and more gelatinous. Even feeble hopes for clean air have punishing realistic consequences.
He doesn't need the oxygen but he wasn't exactly going to risk the bacteria that has mutated here. He steers towards the beaten path, his one responsibility undone as long as this planet burns.
He walks into the small camp and notices new equipment and a new form of transportation that had long since been turned off after seemingly arriving while he was away, parked haphazardly amongst the sands and soot. While the rescue ships and space crafts are still within a viable distance for justification of an outpost, he hadn't thought this small section would get anything like assistance. It was news to Kosma these affiliates, dubbed the "IPC", just looked tired at his existence and waved him this or that way to strong-arm for them. They couldn't possibly have something different for him—
—except they do, but only on paper. He's still to do as this new assistant says as a volunteer, but it's the name jotted down that has him realizing he has been staring at the manager for a while. A blink he does not register and a question he can't even remember asking to this day, but that's not here nor there. Or the most important.
The place they are isn't grandiose and this wing is sparse and, being kind here, rustic. But even within the backdrop of such a depressing sight, he was indeed one to peek around sheer curtains with an almost airy and bewildered tone. " ... Aponia. Of all places to meet, during a disaster is... What happened to you?"
Three different revelations and a mismanaged level to his sentence. He would facepalm if he wasn't still stiff in his boots.

When she heard of the disaster, Aponia had to make her way here. Her heart broke at the state the planet was in, at the panicked people, and at the tired rescuers running around. On normal circumstances, they would've turned Aponia away, but perhaps the situation had grown out of control, and they simply didn't care anymore. Aponia was put to work quickly as she went with a shipment of supplies to an area of need. The ride was dead silent as Apoina didn't have much to say, and it seemed the rest of the small group that came with this batch supply seemed rather intimidated.
Once they arrived, the group quickly separated, leaving Aponia alone to set up and gear herself up. She hummed a tune softly to pass the time, quickly finishing the job that she was set up to do somehow. Aponia had promised herself not to use 'discipline', but with how stubborn with information these "IPC" people had been, she felt as if she had no choice.
The only sound was the wind blowing through the tent- or so she thought was the reason why the curtain rustled behind her. It wasn't until a familiar voice rang in her ear, Aponia froze for a moment before turning around to confirm her suspicion. "Kosma?" Her voice was soft and gentle as it usually was. She placed what she was doing down, making her way to the young boy. "I could say the same to you- As for why I'm here... I have to try and help these people. I can't look away from disaster." Deep down, Aponia sees this as a second chance, but of course, she'll never admit that to him.

Yelan was in conflict with another – a conflict of discipline and understanding.
As she stood amongst the natives of the Xianzhou Luofu, behind her had been a man cowering. A man, by the name of Yaruf, who wishes to seek asylum. Yet before Yelan were unfamiliar faces who gazed in fear towards the man. Fear for what he may do, something that Yelan didn’t understand. What she did understand, though, was the act of due process. She herself worked a government position, and if someone sought asylum, Yelan understood that steps had to be taken before any conclusions could be made properly.
Ugh, I just wanted to finally shop on the Luofu…Yelan’s eyes caught the glimpse of another passerby, a woman dressed in a habit similar to the nuns of Mondstadt. Maybe she could help?
Yelan called out to the woman, “ Excuse me, miss? ” She stared back at the bloodied man behind her, wondering what to do. Screw it. Yelan took the man’s hand and began to move through the gathering crowd, approaching the woman with a look – a mix of annoyance towards the crowd and for the brewing situation. “ Could you help me out? This guy is trying to seek asylum from the Luofu, but everyone’s been looking at him with a mix of fear and disdain. ”
A sigh escaped her lips, convincing a nun won’t be easy – if she’s from Mondstadt too then she may know even less than I do about this place. “ Could you help me find…the Seat of Divine Foresight?” Then, Yelan turned to face the bloodied borisin, “and maybe on our way he can give us more answers for why he’s here…? ”
Her gaze turned back to the nun, a formerly annoyed face now wearing the mask of concern. “ Or at least, could you help us get away from the crowd? The Seat could come after. ”

She was just passing by, a quick stop before continuing on with her travels. Aponia wanted to restock quickly and leave, but there was a certain charm to the ship that appealed to her.
It was the small things, like the ships that fly by... or those tiny origami birds that carried packages to and fro. Aponia found it charming, her walk was peaceful until someone called out to her.
The woman looked over, seeing the extremely poor condition of the other man and how the lady seemed... annoyed. Aponia looked around before realizing that no doubt she was talking to her. "I fear that I don't know this place very well, so I wouldn't be able to find this... Seat of Divine Foresight, you speak of, but I can at least get you away from the crowd." And with that, Aponia places her arm behind the pair, guiding them away to a quieter setting.
Though an alleyway isn't the cleanest, it's at least the most secluded place in a bustling city. There was a small wooden stool where Aponia helped the injured man settle himself. "Why would they come after him? I hope I am not helping a criminal." she added on.. with a serious tone.

Dainsleif isn’t aware that his hands are shaking slightly holding the alchemy equipment until the strange woman takes it from him, the blond man quickly hiding his trembling cursed hand behind his back. He stares at her, eyes with ruined stars in them darting between this woman and the alchemy supplies she now holds.
It seems so familiar, a woman who looked so similar to this one, holding terribly similar equipment, though the alchemy she summoned forth was something Dain knew now to be much more sinister in nature, at least when it was her hands wielding that power. He reminds himself once more that this likely has no relation to the art of his homeland and that Rhinedottir had long been absent.
And she, though she bears a passing resemblance to Rhinedottir at a glance, is not “Gold”, the sinner he had come to despise.
(His body aches with the rot that his brother’s ring can never fully erase, pieces of the curse that seeped too deep into his very bone. A curse that was, in part, Rhinedottir’s fault. For that, he can never forgive her.)
“Ah, forgive me, rather rude of me to not introduce myself either,” His posture falls rigid as he bows his head in apology to Aponia, “You may call me Dainsleif. Now that’s out of the way… shall we attempt to get started?”
A hum of a response was all he received after her had introduced himself. 'Dainsleif' huh? What a strange name, it fits the way that he was acting. Who was Aponia to poke fun at people who were "strange in nature", considering that she was a walking mystery?
Aponia took one of the tools in her hand, frowning slightly as she followed the direction of the instructor carefully. The slime, on the other hand, seemed to have other plans. Anytime she moved close with the instrument in her hand, it would warp its body away from it, only to bounce back to normal once she pulled back. Aponia wasn't one to get annoyed, so she would simply try again, only for the same result.
"Hm... what a playful creature." The woman mumbled as it looked like the slime was incredibly pleased with itself. She didn't want to expose herself early with the power of discipline and... the chances that it would even work were so slim she'd risk the chance of embarrassing herself. "How would one go about doing anything with these creatures? They seem intent on making this... difficult."
