Something I found amusing.
I uploaded a YouTube video.
Here are my thoughts on Chapter 8&9 of Naruto.
Here are my thoughts on Volume 1 of Naruto.
So, I've been trying to avoid talking about this scene. But it needs to be addressed. So many people use this page and specifically the circled panels to argue that Sakura was making fun of/bullying Naruto for being an orphan.
I can see why. The scene does read like Sakura is making fun of Naruto for being an orphan. However, I would hesitate to say that she's bullying Naruto.
Before anyone throws their pitchforks at me, let me explain. I'm mostly speaking from my own experience being bullied. Bullies are mean, but not everyone who is mean is a bully. Being bullied is a painful experience. Bullies are smart enough to know who are meek and lack confidence. They isolate their victims to make hurting them easier.
So, to say that Sakura is bullying Naruto for being an orphan implies that she's being intentionally cruel to hurt Naruto. However, that is not the case. The reason I say this is because Sakura says that she envies Naruto.
This is important because it doesn't make sense. If Sakura's intention was to hurt Naruto with her words, why would she say that? It just makes it look like she's being cruel to cover up her real feelings.
Before anyone accuses me of anything, I am not defending Sakura's words. What she said was cruel, hurtful, and insensitive. I don't doubt that the people genuinely believe that Sakura was bullying Naruto for being an orphan. As I said, the page does read like Sakura is making fun of him. It's not a stretch to say that Sakura's intention was to hurt Naruto with her words and therefore bullying him.
However, I also believe that some people say that Sakura is bullying Naruto for being an orphan because they want to make her look bad. But I can't explain until... 100+ chapters.
Just keep what I said in mind. Don't dismiss me because you think that I'm a crazy Sakura stan who will protect her queen at all costs because I'm really not.
On the topic of kisses, let's talk about the kiss that Naruto and Sakura almost have. Now we have people who say that Naruto tried to sexually assault Sakura and people who say that Sakura tried to sexually assault Sasuke.
So basically, Naruto transforms to look like Sasuke to make Sakura give him her opinion on himself. Now, I'm going to give Naruto the benefit of the doubt and say that he froze when Sakura leaned into him. I'll also say that maybe he didn't intend for things to go that far. The thing is, had he and Sakura kissed, Naruto would bear some blame because he tricked Sakura into thinking that he's Sasuke.
Does this mean Sakura is innocent? No. You really shouldn't try to kiss someone if you're not sure they'll be okay with it. But I still have a problem with the people who say "Well if Sakura kissed Sasuke without his consent, then that would be sexual assault" because those people fail to understand that the scene only works because Naruto is pretending to be Sasuke. Had it been Sasuke, he would have asked what she's doing. He would have moved away. He would have left.
Honestly, the people who say "Well if Sakura kissed Sasuke without his consent, it would be sexual assault " are probably the same people who say that Sakura raped Sasuke. I know that's a joke in some communities, but it's not funny.
The thing is, both sides are technically right in saying that had one party kissed the other party without consent, it would be sexual assault. But I can't help but feel like people are saying that about Naruto and Sakura because they don't like them.
Here are my thoughts on Chapter 3 of Naruto. Naruto and Sasuke should not have kissed. The NaruSasu fans can stay mad. I don't find the scene funny. The scene does nothing. Like... Naruto and Sasuke's relationship doesn't change. It doesn't make their relationship better or worse. It just introduces Sakura in such an unlikable way that makes her annoying.
It's been a while since I uploaded a YouTube video. But here it is.
I know that skimming is wrong, but I'm not going to pay attention to a chapter about an annoying child who isn't important to the plot. This says it best. Ignore my shameless plug-in.
I'm doing a re-reading Naruto series on my Twitter, but I figured I might as well do it on my other social media accounts. So here are my thoughts. Iruka should have had more screen time. Mizuki is a forgettable villain. Why does nobody seem to know that Naruto is Minato's son? What's up with the orb that Hiruzen uses? Why do we never see it again?
