Wally places a hand on his forehead for a minute, and then he pulls it back. “You really don’t leave the house without any money? I got you, man. I’ll cover lunch and then we can find something FUN.”

“ trust me. i do, too, but it seems like the world is gonna end anyway. ” he didn’t know much about this ‘thanos’ character, but he knew he was an incredible threat. he also knew seeing what would happen if wally ran around the world in reverse would make for a great form of escapism. “ i didn’t think i’d need money today –– not right now. i promise i’m good to pay you back, though, ” he replied, looking to skeets to make sure the droid made note of it. “ something fun... do you think it’s weird that i still haven’t really explored new york... at all ? ”

Now that was all information Wally didn’t know,  but he’ll remember it for later. He doesn’t know what messing with the timeline like that would do to it — or each other. “I don’t think I’m gonna do that, tempting as your argument is. It’s not worth the risk.” He places a hand on Booster’s back for a moment. “What? How about we get some lunch first before we start any adventure.”

booster was typically of average intelligence level, although his... nature –– just overall nature –– generally made him look like somewhat of a buffoon. get him on something he’s actually interested in, though ? there you have it. “ fine. we can revisit this after that whole ‘thanos’ thing is out of the way. ” if he had to... he would sacrifice his integrity and go to one of the other flashes. “ oh, it’s just – the guy who did the twilight zone reboot –– it’s jordan peele. ” a beat as booster realized that may not have been the source of wally’s ‘what?’ “ okay, but i kind of came here hoping we’d do my thing which is free... so i don’t have any money with me. ”

“ yeah ! this thing is from, like... 1988, i think ? airbags weren’t federally mandated until 1999. ” he replied, glancing over. pressing harder on the gas pedal, the only answer he could offer to clint’s question was: “ welcome to america ! where nothing is safe ! ” as the car began reaching 75mph, he realized he probably was taking the showboating of it too far. “ so whaddya think ? ”

Wally lifts a hand into the air. “Woah, have you been watching some Twilight Zone or something? Where did you get this idea? I don’t know what would happen, but I would hate for you to get stuck in a time loop or worse if we tried something like that.” It hardly seems worth the risk, especially when there’s a threat from someone called THANOS over their heads. 

“ did you know that rod serling, creator of twilight zone, died when he was only fifty ? this guy fights in and survives world war two, creates a series that’ll later get its own movie and spin-off by that one guy –– what’s his name ? ... anyway, he dedicates his life to progress just to pass away from a heart attack at fifty ! ... so, to answer your question, yes, but the time travel thing ? that’s just something i thought of on my own. ” there were bigger things to be thinking of, he knew that –– he definitely knew that. some foreign enemy... and questions like those ? he figured they provided a distr – “ jordan peele ! ”

booster should’ve grown used to how fast wally –– and all the flashes –– were by now... but ‘sorry’ ?? crazy. “ no need to hurry, ” he preceded, knowing full well that his following question would probably be... dumb to wally. “ well, i have a hypothetical to run by you. if you ran around the world the wrong way, probably making time reverse, but i traveled to the future... what do you think would happen ? ” he assumed the future, simply because of the technology of the timesphere, but if he was traveling from the past that was supposed to be the present into... he tried not to think about it too much. when he did, that happened.

fallen to the ground, booster knew this man was called ‘ocean master’ for a reason –– the word ‘master’ was literally in his name ! but god knows he would do everything he could to beat this. if he were to be asked his motivation, he would lie, say it was because he wouldn’t be beaten by a man who still looked like he was a preteen ( observational humor ! ), but… in the weakest voice he could muster, he replied, “ there’s one thing you didn’t count on… ” then, dramatically flying up ( because he was a hero – they were supposed to be dramatic, right ? ), “ my hands are my worst feature ! ” ‘ beside your personality. ’ “ oh shush, skeets. ”

it made sense. booster had noticed a pattern: he tried to have fun and/or do something good, then it somehow backfired. remember when he saved the president ? – well, granted, that was out of self-interest – but remember when he voluntarily made himself look like an idiot in front of the original justice league so he could save lives without jeopardizing the present ? that one seemed like it could count. so it was just his luck to wind up with a gun to his head and skeets temporarily knocked out ! no deus machina for him, hm ? “ well... i’m trying to save lives ! ” you know, that should’ve been enough, but wouldn’t that be everyone’s excuse ? and what if she was a villain ? god dammit. “ plus my buddy will be really confused and upset if he wakes up and i’m not here, ” he continued, motioning down to the droid in his arms. if nothing else, that one had to be unique...
