Disneyland Diamond Days Winner Enjoys Private Breakfast in Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland Park

Recently, Disneyland Diamond Days winner Simon Dawson from Thousand Oaks, Calif., and his family enjoyed a private breakfast in Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland park, along with a ride on Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin. The morning got even more magical when Roger Rabbit himself joined them for a visit!

First White Diamond Prize Presented to Disneyland Diamond Days Winner at Disneyland Dream Suite

Earlier this month, we hosted Marguerita Fa-Kaji from Berkley, Calif. – the first recipient of one of the 1-carat white diamonds being awarded during the Disneyland Diamond Days sweepstakes! As part of her prize package, Marguerita and her family also had the opportunity to stay a night in the Disneyland Dream Suite.

During their stay in the Disneyland Dream Suite, Marguerita and her family enjoyed a VIP tour of Disneyland park and a special, surprise visit from Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, who presented them with an exclusive Disneyland Diamond Days display box to showcase Marguerita’s 1-carat white Disney Diamond – engraved with a “Hidden Mickey” – and personalized certificate artwork created by Disney Artist Stacia Martin.

After settling into the Disneyland Dream Suite, the family enjoyed dinner while watching “Fantasmic!” from their private balcony. Then, around 12:30 a.m., the family embarked on an after-hours tour of Disneyland park, seeing what it looks like after our guests have gone home for the day. The next morning, they had breakfast at Plaza Inn, as part of their prize package, before departing.

“Such a haven in the heart of the park,” the family wrote in the Disneyland Dream Suite Guest Book. “You have given us an experience of a lifetime.”

A noted train enthusiast, Walt Disney built his very first railroad in his backyard. The Carolwood Pacific Railroad, a 1/8-scale train, debuted in 1950 and featured a custom-built, steam powered locomotive that encircled his property.

Delighted with his miniature backyard railroad, Walt decided to share his love of trains with the whole world. The result was the Santa Fe & Disneyland Railroad, a favorite of Guests since the park opened in 1955.

Today, railroads exist at every Disney park around the globe.

Autopia is the only existing Tomorrowland attraction dating back to Opening Day,1955. When the cars first took to the road, they captured America’s fascination with the latest transportation innovation: the “freeway.” Over the years, the roadways and car styles have been periodically updated for this “automobile utopia,” but the fun is still the same.

The Disneyland Monorail was the first transportation system of its kind in America. It was based on a system built by the ALWEG company and discovered by Walt Disney while traveling in Germany. The monorail first appeared in Disneyland Park in 1959 with its "Googie" architecture, a space age look that was enormously popular during the 1950s.

The current version of the Disneyland Monorail combines the sleek styling of the 1959 classic with new technologies and subtle design changes, bringing a retro-futuristic look and contemporary feel to the timeless Disneyland icon.

California Family Wins a Disneyland Diamond Days Prize

Last week, we hosted Thomas Lyons and his family, from Manhattan Beach, Calif. – winner of one of the prizes being awarded during Disneyland Diamond Days! 

Join Thomas, his wife Faith and daughters Grace and Phoebe as they enjoy their last Disneyland Resort visit before Grace and Phoebe head to college this semester. The visit was made extra special with their prize package, which included a three-day, two-night Disneyland Resort vacation and an exclusive tour of Disney California Adventure park before the park opened for the day, capped off with a special ride in the Red Car Trolley with Mickey Mouse!

Mad Tea Party is inspired by the Mad Hatter’s party sequence in Walt Disney’s animated classic Alice in Wonderland. Featuring the same resplendent floral colors, wacky architectural flourishes and objects of disproportionate size as seen in the movie, this timeless attraction places you in the middle of all the kooky mayhem.
