Bless you, Ben.

Does a 5th Avenue Hunchback recording exist outside of the videos already posted? I saw it on Saturday and was blown away. I sat in the ASL section and it was loads of fun. Emotions were high because it was almost the last performance.
As far as I am aware, the only video is what 5th Avenue took themselves for promo material, and I don’t know whether they filmed the whole show for their archives or to give to the cast or if they just filmed bits and pieces for their YouTube and Facebook. As far as the trading community goes, I haven’t seen an audience video of any Seattle production or tour stop since maybe 2012? But I haven’t been active in trading in a while either. So as far as video goes, it’s unlikely we’ll see anything that the theatre itself hasn’t already released. As far as audio goes, which unfortunately doesn’t capture much of Joshua Castille’s performance, I know of 3 full audios but they still have preshow/intermission/postshow noise that needs cut out.
The AMAZING Joshua Castille and EJ Cardona in Out There at 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle. They’ve only gotten better since this was recorded.

*I disagree with some of the script decisions as far as EJ’s lines. In this clip you can hear him urging Quasimodo to help Esmeralda (”You are the only one who can save her now”), then almost immediately turns into Quasimodo’s voice singing angrily against the gargoyles. I love that they did a singing voice and cast a deaf actor, but they needed to not give him gargoyle lines that contradicted his Quasi lines. Due to timing there’s no way he could pull them off as two different characters, so it just looks odd. But EJ sounds amazing in this role, and seems to get better every single day.

Excuse the heads, I was trying to get a picture of the arches. And I know those are just decorative cutouts but they look like “hidden” mickeys. 😂
Second row dead center. Yes, at this theatre row A is second row if you’re in the middle section. Weird. And there’s a really classy lady three seats to my right with her bare feet on top of the seat in front of her. 🙄
Hey guys. It’s been a while. Well today’s my birthday and I’m spending it at the theatres. In 45 minutes I’m seeing the Les Mis tour matinee, then Hunchback of Notre Dame tonight, the local Seattle production ft. Deaf West actor Joshua Castille. How’s your weekend going?
So I’ve decided that, while I won’t be active on here, at least not for a while, I won’t fully delete my account. That way you guys still have access to everything I’ve posted up until this point. On top of that, I have a couple more things for you. Just announced today, the last show of Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre’s 17/18 season is going to be Hunchback. Since I currently live here and have no plans of moving away before then, I will definitely be seeing it, possibly multiple times.
And since I no longer trade audios, I have no need of keeping this one rare and valuable so here’s the 2 December 2014 full Julian Decker as Quasimodo audio. The rest of the case was the same as always, no other understudies.

Hey all, thanks for sharing in my love for hunchback. Due to long work hours and disgust for all the hate floating around on my main blog, I’m shutting everything down once I get to my computer. If there’s anything I’ve posted here that you wanted to save, do so now before it’s gone.
