How to use the bodyguard card: you play the card exerted, the glimmer doesn’t get any lore this turn, then when you ready set draw… make sure exert your bodyguard again as a bodyguard not exerted leaves your other cards vulnerable, so always make sure the bodyguard always challenges or quests 😁

In the first chapter of Lorcana we learn that there are 2 different type of Glimmers to be created:

Storyborn:

These glimmers are created straight from the story they came from

Dreamborn:

The 2nd type of glimmer that can be created is the Dream born, these glimmers are reimagined and slightly different glimmers than the story that they came from

As you create glimmer cards…you notice the different texts on cards:

The book symbol:

The book symbol is a quote directly from the movie or show the glimmer came from

The pen symbol (Flavoured text):

The pen symbol means flavoured text, this isn’t from a movie, this is a flavoured text to tell more of Lorcana story or a text to make the card more interesting or to give it more punch

The Clef symbol:

This symbol is obviously for songs from disney movies

You have been magically summoned the great illuminary.

The great illuminary is a treasury of all the Disney characters and stories and songs ever made and recorded.

You have been summoned here because of your powerful imagination.

Here you will take on a role of an illumineer with the ability to bring these characters to life.

As you walk around the strange room, you see an ink caster.

You also see a book, somehow it feels familiar and as you raise the ink caster high a character appears on the page and comes to life. These are called glimmers.

The glimmers that you create can either be a story born (a glimmer based on the story they were created from) or dream-born (a version of the character reimagined in different ways).

With the use of the different magical inks..

You can use these inks to create more characters, songs and items, soon after more illumineers arrive in the illuminary and is soon back to life..

In Lorcana we collect Lore to win the game, I’m yet to see Lore explained what it is we are collecting. Lore is classified as significant items that are fragments of a larger story such as…

Maui’s fish hook and Peter Pans dagger, so ultimately when we quest to collect lore… (Although these are item cards that we use) This is the lore we collect when questing to win the game.

Your basic Lorcana card and what you need to know

So walking through town doing shopping. I start noticing these cards on display at the check out counters, the more i saw the more curious i got…..

I have given into my curiosity, and decided to start collecting.

Researching is it worth it, i discover Lorcana started in 2023. This is only 2024…. So I’m not too far behind people in the game…. So Saturday i buy my first deck and a binder for the cards…..Shopping list for Saturday ❤️
