Welcome to disordered-system-culture-is! We’re a blog for DID/OSDD/other disordered systems (including non-traumagenic disordered systems) to submit asks starting with something similar to “DID culture is”, “OSDD culture is” or something more specific, such as “endogenic DID culture is” or “fictional introject culture is”. We post those into the queue, which should post roughly once a day, provided we have submissions to fill it.

A few rules:

1. No hateful asks. Asks about how much you hate x group or anything similar will be deleted--this isn’t the blog for that. You can post about community issues to a degree, but starting discourse isn’t allowed and will be deleted from the ask box at our discretion.

2. Any disordered systems can send in asks, regardless of origin. This blog explicitly includes endogenic, quoigenic and mixed origin systems, if they are also disordered. This blog was created with systems who are disordered but aren’t usually accepted in traumagenic-only spaces in mind. (If you’re thinking “Wait!!! Endogenics?? But they’re nondisordered!!”, read this.)

3. LGBT-phobia, ableism, racism and anything else similar will not be posted here. You will be blocked and your ask will be deleted.

4. Asks spreading misinformation will be deleted at our discretion. This is referring to anything about plural identities as well as other communities outside of that.

We’d be happy to trigger warn posts if any need it, so definitely tell us if you’d like something to be warned for!

Disordered System Culture is:

We have a mailbox at the end of the road. We have a key to get the mail. We get the mail. We come home. We sit down for a couple hours.

Suddenly gatekeeper(?) comes around and says “hey I don’t remember us putting away the mail key clearly or even getting it back from the mail”

Retrace our steps, nothing.

Meanwhile a little is absolutely freaking the hell out because he thinks our mother is going to be mad (she likely will) and hate us forever and abandon us and also kill us, our family and herself (okay that’s really pushing it little buddy) and is refusing to leave front until we know for sure either the keys are recovered or we survive our mother being slightly reasonably upset with us.

We still can’t find our keys and our mother is not home yet. And the kid is still freaking out. And so is the host.

i dont understand how this is a safe space for disordered systems when you allow systems who blatantly say they’re non disordered to send asks. endogenic systems claim to not be disordered so why are you including them in something they dont have?

this isn’t a hate comment but it is very disgruntled.

We normally ignore these seeing as they are usually very hateful, but you worded this one a lot kinder than usual and it's been a while since we've answered anything like this. I think it's an opportunity to talk about this again. So, a reminder to everyone:

Endogenic means a system that did not form from trauma.

This does not mean:

A system who experiences no disordered symptoms.

A system who does not have and/or has never had a disorder related to their plurality.

A system who claims to be nondisordered.

A system who has no trauma at all.

A system with no headmates formed from trauma.

A system whose plurality cannot be influenced by trauma in any way.

A system who chose to be plural.

It is literally only a statement on how that system as a whole formed in the first place. It doesn't mean anything else. This is why origin labels are a little silly overall to us personally, and why we tend to use them on an individual headmate basis instead of for the collective. They quite literally only tell you the first initial point that started your plurality. Nothing that came after, nothing about how you function as a system, nothing about what trauma you do or don't have. You can be endogenic and develop a CDD later. You can be traumagenic and have no CDD. You can have a CDD and later on, create endogenic headmates. These experiences aren't isolated to different boxes, they can and often do overlap.

Because it can be a little hard to grasp, I'm going to use an example. If for instance you made an accidental tulpa as a child, maybe through having an imaginary friend, you would be endogenic, yeah? Then as time went on, things happened, and you grew to have DID as a result of trauma. Generally you would still be able to be considered endogenic because that is how you formed in the beginning, that is how your plurality started. That would not and should not not take away from what you experienced growing up, your traumagenic headmates you ended up with, or how your system presents later in life.

In situations such as the above, some people like to use mixed origin or quoigenic or even just endogenic or traumagenic as labels, sometimes simultaneously. We're not going to dictate what label you use for your system, doing so would not make this a safe space. What makes this a safer space, would be allowing people the comfort of labelling their own identities as they wish. As anyone, plural or not, should have the right to do.

And this happens with everything. You always gotta check if you did something since just because you remember doing it doesn't mean you actually did it.

DID culture is figuring out something about your system/your role as an alter and knowing you're gonna completely forget it soon but something's stopping you from writing it down in detail so you just write down the thought that got you there and hope a gatekeeper or archivist or something can find it and retrace your steps. i can already feel it fading :|
