Nanna stood at the ship’s edge, one hand braced against the railing as the deck beneath her hummed with music and motion. The sea breeze played at the hem of her dress, and she turned slightly, letting it carry her hair back as she looked toward her companion. “I’ve never danced on the water before,” she admitted with a soft smile. “But I think I quite like the idea. It’s like we’ve carried the ballroom with us, haven’t we?”
As the musicians began to play, a slower tune rolling over the waves, she stepped into the sway of it with quiet grace. “We’re still part of the celebration, but it feels... different out here. A little like a secret.” Her eyes sparkled with something wistful, something fond. “Maybe we could stay just a little longer before we return to shore?”
She held up her bracelet with seashell charms. “I’ll even trade you one of my charms, so we can have something to remember each other by.”
Morgan had joined one of the cruises that left the dock and found herself wandering around. It wasn't long before she found something that... seemed familiar. At least on the edges of her mind. She trotted up the deck to the fellow student. That much she knew!
After all this was probably one of the students she read about to in the battle reports of the Battle of Eagle and Lion. Now it was time to mentally go through her rolodex of people and make a proper intro.... wait...
Morgan brought her attention back to the woman she literally, just seconds ago, trotted up to. Was... she monologuing? About dancing on the water? Who could dance on the water? Wait... no she meant on the ship on the water. Alright and she wasn't just monologuing but rather talking to her. Okay that made sense she could work with... wait wait wait....
She began walking in tune with the music looking so wistful and serene. Like she was in a play. WHY?
She went on about how this cruise was their "little secret" and how she wanted to stay here with Morgan for just a little longer? Morgan's brain shut off for a whole two seconds... These were their first words they've shared and... WAS SHE FLIRTING WITH MORGAN? WHY????
Morgan's face scrunched in confusion at the thought. But she did offer to trade charms. Oh okay! Maybe it was a long winded introduction for that! Sure that'd make sense. New cultures and what not. She pointedly decided not to completely process the "to remember each other" part in her speech so that she could keep this conclusion as the prominent theory.
"Oh! Yeah I'd be down to trade charms! I have a pearl. I could definitely use one of the seashells. I'm Morgan by the way. What's your name?" Don't worry stranger, this charm wasn't the only way Morgan would remember you.
