I hate messing up my Spanish when speaking to my mom 😭brooo

like it’s so much more then just not knowing the language. it makes me feel like I’m not “Dominican “ or Latina enough. Like it deadass makes me so upset when ppl make fun of “no sabos” for this reason.

As if we don’t already feel like we’re not “latina enough” , as if we don’t already feel like shit for not knowing our mother tongue. Like this is beyond just the Hispanic community. We didn’t ask to be born in an English speaking country, we didn’t ask our parents to move to country that doesn’t share our culture.

It’s not my fault- and it doesn’t make me any less Latina- to not know Spanish.

Shout out to all my child of immigrants that can’t speak thier parents language, and a huge fuck you and eat shit to those make of feel like shit for it.
