//oh void i forgot this exists im so sorry
"Way too many books. The Librarian explains it better, but in the Void, space is meaningless. I'm the only other worker aside from her enchanted book, Oracle." She grinned at the surprise but started to frown at the cough. Was the newcomer okay?
She stood from the desk and walked around before motioning for Xenna to follow. The rows of bookshelves had a habit of feeling like a labyrinth for newcomers.
"On the way I guess I should go over things, like the rules and how you might experience the book. Everything here is enchanted, any attempts at damaging a book will fail, even something minor as," She shuddered before finishing "dog earing."
"As soon as you open it, it'll read your mind. Any recorded history prior to your present will be shown, anything within the last year or your future will be hidden. You may ask for that limit to be removed, but we generally try to dissuade from peeking ahead."
At an alcove, tucked away from prying eyes, the girl stopped and pulled a book off the shelf before setting it down on the table.
"Here's the book you were looking for, but feel free to spend as much time as you like. My name is Faith, by the way, but you can also call me Fate."
The sheer Size of the place has Xenna stunned. Her eyes cannot help but look around as she follows behind. Even though she was in awe of the place, she still listened to the librarian explain it to her.
She cringed at the idea of intentionally harming ANY book. She would never.
The future part didn't really interest her either. NO point in seeing what's ahead, that would ruin the fun of the surprise.
She was mesmerized by the alcove, all of her instincts wanted to read every single book in this place. But that was impossible no one could read THAT much.
"My name is Xenna... Don't you get lonely being the only employee?"
"Sometimes, yeah. I do travel to other worlds though, so I'm not cooped up here all the time." A grin flashed on her face as she turned to Xenna.
"Y'know, I once tried to go to a worlds largest library," pause for effect, "but it was overbooked!" Fate laughed at her own joke, hoping that Xenna enjoyed it too.
"Anywho, would you like me to leave you alone while you read? I can work in the area if you'd like me to stick around, Oracle can greet guests if I'm not there."
@voidlingbooks - Dad joke time
~
He's quiet for a few moment, staring off into space...before coming back to reality.
"Ah...
Someone told me that it’s impossible to make a pun about vegetables...
I said that’s not nececelery true."
A chuckle escaped Fate's lips. She was happy to be back in an Undertale world, even though she was lost on which one. A Papyrus telling jokes though? That was unexpected.
"I wonder how much thyme it took to think of that one, that joke really was corn-y" and now the training from her uncle sets in.
"It's quiet around here. Should I change that?" Fate (formerly known as Faith) asked the air before biting into a blood bag.
Faith listened and thought, and then came the detail.
"Perfect! The bookshelves should organise for where you're from specifically, I just needed to know the general world. I can show you to the section if you'd like, the library can be hard to navigate at times."
Xenna listened carefully, her interest peaked.
"They... Organize themselves? How many books does this place have?" She coughs into her hand, forcing herself to calm down.
"S-sorry. I heard this place was a good place to look, but I didn't realize just how much there is." That and she was a big reader.... she could get lost in here and be perfectly fine.
"But sure, show me to the section."

That was a lot of questions Xenna did not expect. Then again there were worlds that had more than 1 town the same name. It would be understandable that worlds also had that problem.
Why couldn't people just pick DIFFERENT names for their towns. Was it so HARD?
"WEll... I Uh... I don't really know anything about it. There's a clock tower, and old Keyblade users called it home at one point." AT least that's what she gathered from her moms old journal.
"Oh uh... There was a union in there called Leopardos."
Faith listened and thought, and then came the detail.

"Hey there! I'm looking for a book about Daybreak town? Do you have anything?"
Faith was humming to herself as she worked the desk. It was a quiet day in the library, the Librarian was on break, she could almost fall asleep, at least until the voice snapped her back to reality.
"Hmm? Oh! Yeah, I'm sure we do. Need to ask what world though, what sorta details can you tell me? Daybreak is a bit uncommon, but a few worlds do share it."
