Her fears seemed to be completely forgotten about now as she let’s out a small laugh of amusement, it wasn’t often she was actually referred to as ‘Lady’. “Oh, this is so exciting, we don’t get many newcomers to the Fae Lands…I never really understood why though.” She muses in thought until the Jester’s question snaps her out of it.
“There are a few ways normally but then easiest ways are usually, mirrors, still crystal waters, and large overgrown hedges. Though, traveling by hedge can be dangerous if you are not careful…at least for a non-fae.” She says with a small shrug.
“Then our quest is made that much simpler,” the Jester declared. We must find a mirror or still waters! Perhaps a hedge, if we’re feeling daring.” He couldn’t have made that sound sillier if he tried. And he certainly tried.
Of course, it was one thing to call the quest simple, but to actually find what they sought would be anything but. A mirror would be unlikely out here in the wilds of the Dark. Crystal clear water perhaps less so, but still a rarity here. They may just have to resort to a hedge... Still sounded silly.
“Come, Tasi, we away!” And off the Jester began to march, into the dark, foreboding woods.

@warriorthe liked for a starter!
“Oh, how cute. Were you a little windup mouse, by chance?”
thevoices-ofmymind:
“Oh you are going to love it! Or at least I hope you will, after all there is defiantly far more color and light there then this place so I’m not sure if you would like that much or not…oh, and there are lots of adorable animals there too! And unicorns too! Though, they tend to be rather skittish.” She says, wings perking up happily as she thought of her home. While she did love going to the human lands she had to admit that it tended to be much duller then that of the Faes.
She glanced at the offered hand confused for a moment until she remembered seeing humans do this as a rather common greeting towards one another. Taking the offered hand she gave it a small shake. “Jester, that is a very interesting name! My name is Tasi.” Her smile widened a bit, she certainly felt much more comforted about having Jester along with her rather then being stuck wandering the darkness by herself.
Talkative, wasn’t she? But then again, he could be quite the chatterbox, himself. And the land of the fae did sound quite intriguing... like the Dark, but brighter. Jester was more than ready for a little brightness. When at last she took his outstretched hand Jester braced himself against the chill and shook gently, as if sealing a pact.
“Lady Tasi,” he said, as if testing the name out. “Very well, then, we are off! To the land of the Faes and perhaps even beyond! We shall know when we get there!” Yes, a new adventure. A new goal to strive for, something to take him away from the Dark and take his mind from... from what he has lost.
“Do tell me, Tasi, how do the fae normally move from one realm to another? I found my way here through a closet door, but I’ve not seen one in some time.
burningxstarsx:
“Please do not hurt the police!”
“What I am saying is that you should not kill the criminals. Merely… Incapacitate them!” Just straight up ending their lives could open cans of worms. Even she knew that much. “We are here to assist, not to govern.”
“Hmm... you may have a point, my fine, floating friend. And yet when you’re staring down the barrel of a loaded gun there’s really little time to debate ethics, now is there?” The Jester tuned, picking up the weapon he had thrown moments before. The blade was stained now, but the crimson color went well with his outfit.
thevoices-ofmymind:
“While that dose sound like a rather interesting story it also does indeed sound like a very sad one too. I am sorry you’ve had to go through so much.” The fairy says, truly feeling sorry for this strange yet seemingly very kind being. She couldn’t help but reach out towards him to lay a small sympathetic hand on his arm, unsure if her touch would chill him like it would for most mortals. Of course regardless, the chill would be a mild one, more along the lines of a cold night’s breeze passing by then anything else so it would at least hopefully be tolerable.
“If you can indeed help me get home that would be wonderful! And…” she pauses as she thinks over her next words, “you could always come with me if you’d like! You could make the Fae Lands your new home! I mean…not may other fae would like that idea but none would dare argue against the word of a moon daughter.” She offers a bright smile finally managing to make it’s way onto her lips as her fear was finally forgotten-for the time being.
The fairy’s touch sent a shiver up the Jester’s arm and down his spine. A cold hand, indeed, to chill even him, a man eternally burning from within. But he was a stalwart fellow, and he never let the discomfort show. She called herself... what was it? A moon daughter? Perhaps such an icy touch was natural for a moon daughter, then.
“Your offer is most kind, fair lady. There is... little left for me here, in the dark.” What he had been seeking before... it seemed all but lost, now. “And I’d rather not go home and go back to a life upon a shelf, stuck in a tiny box. One’s spring can get so cramped, you know? Perhaps, then, I will accompany you to this world of yours, and see what wonders I may see.”
The Jester smiled, offering the fairy his hand to shake, although he braced himself for another chill. “I am called Jester. And by what name will I address my new companion?”
burningxstarsx:
“I am not saying you are wrong, merely that… Well, the proper authorities shall think you are the one to be arrested! They do not appreciate the heroes doing such things outside of their government!”
“Oh, is that all?” The Jester was hardly impressed with the authorities. If they were capable of dealing with him they would have taken care of all these criminals themselves. “I mean, if its their lives you’re worried about I do try my best not to hurt policemen too badly...”
thevoices-ofmymind:
“O-oh…I see. Well, it was my first time traveling back to the Fae Lands from the human lands so, I guess it makes sense that I would end up here.” The fairy reasons, though that makes her no less scared by the fact there seemed to be virtually no light in this place.
“What of you? How did you end up here? And have you been here very long?” She asked, attempting to drown her fear with her curiosity instead, it worked a little bit, but her wings would occasionally flutter to show otherwise.
The Jester smiled a tired smile. “Me? My story, dear lady, is a long and heartbreaking one. Of love and loss and betrayal and forgiveness. Of versus evil and all that lies in between in the gray areas of morality. I shall spare you the gory details and tell you instead that I also traveled from the human world, seeking something that was lost.”
“And now...?” The Jester shrugged his shoulders. “Now ‘twould seem it is I who am lost. Lost but still flesh and bone, still on my feet and ready to find my way.” He titled his head at the fairy, something hopeful and caring in his dark eyes. “Consider yourself lucky, fair one, for I also happen to be a man of chivalry. If you wish it, I will help you find your way out of the Dark and back to your home.”
thevoices-ofmymind:
He’d never heard of a place called the ‘Dark’ before, how strange. Even more strange was that they simply refereed to themselves as a ‘jester’ not human or otherwise. Therefore the magi determined to be even more on guard then before, if this creature was not of this world then he was not about to let something else loose upon the world.
“I am Ardeth Bay of the Pharaoh’s Magi.” He says with a small nod of greeting, after all, so far this jester fellow hadn’t proven to be a threat or really, to be anything at all yet so, Ardeth supposed it best to remain at the very least civil for now unless something proved to show he should be otherwise. “Tell me jester, are you mortal as well?”
He glances down the tomb before turning back the creature. “This tomb could be a possible resting place for either great treasure or a horrid curse that may bring an end to the world. Either way, grave robbers and bandits alike will soon be drawn here. As well as…archaeologists. It is the job of the Magi to ensure the no one disturb such places.”
“Mortal, you say? If you mean am I flesh and blood and bone capable of dying, then yes, sir Magi, I am quite mortal indeed.” Should this man wish to test that out, of course, Jester would not happily oblige him the chance. But perhaps he would take him on his word.
Ah, but this place, this tomb... it was the hiding place of something important, was it? Treasure... No, the Jester had no use of treasure. And he had no love of world-ending curses, either. “I can assure you, Ardeth bay, I am no robber or bandit. Nor am I even a hated archaeologist. I came upon this tomb only by chance, and I most happily leave it to your capable hands.”
