the scenes after Ben’s fall from the monorail and Kenji is in the background of the scenes staring at the dork pouch, rubbing it, the scenes where he’s longingly starring off thinking about Ben. He and Brooklynn being the first people to see Ben, the first person he’s touched in weeks, was Kenji. Kenji initiating the hug between them after trying to push away Ben’s affections the whole time.

contrasting with the scenes of Ben dying in front of Kenji he has the ability to do something this time and not watch Darius struggle and ultimately Ben fall, he patches Ben up, he stays with Ben the whole time, Darius tells Kenji to be with him…

also a direct parallel Ben thinks Kenji’s died and refuses to go with out him, Kenji believes Ben dies and reluctantly goes without him

Henry having 2 extremely suicidal mothers is hilarious in the context of the show because they are always trying to martyr themselves and Henry gotta be like hey no let’s actually not do that let’s go to granny’s

Okay but can we talk how Kenji always was the one to co-parent with Ben, and he was always the first to do so as if it was part of their relationship? 

Like, Kenji was against Bumpy in CC s1, but when Ben "died", he immediately jumped into the caretaker role for Bumpy. As if he's always been the second parent (which he wasn't at all before that). 

Then with Smoothie. Sure, Ben let him hold the egg, but he still mainly acted like Ben was the main parent and he simply took on the role of a co-parent without any questions asked. As if it's the most natural thing to do. 

No regular bestie would come to the conclusion that a bestie's kid is their responsibility when their bestie is away for some time (if they haven't agreed to it beforehand). That would be the role of their partner, or any other family member. Sure, there was none of that on the island, but c'mon. It's like they've been a divorced couple from the start.
