Incredibly violent take of mine but I actually don’t think you need to relate to a story in any way to enjoy it. You can enjoy a story even if you can’t point at a character and insert some aspect of your personality or identity into them. In fact I would argue the need for a character like that to be present in every single story you experience is a sign of stunted growth.

People don't get what Michaela & Francesca mean to people.

This relationship is for every baby gay who watched Tara shot through the chest. For girls who watch as Lexa was unexpectedly shot and killed minutes after having sex with her girlfriend. For every lesbian character that was fridged in a movie/tv show.

Its for every lesbian relationship that was cancelled unfairly like warrior nun which despite great reviews was cancelled and later a renewal dangled like a carrot for years. It for every fan of first kill, A league of their own, Grease: rise of the pink ladies, Batwoman, Motherland: Fort Salem, Gentleman Jack, The Wilds, and I Am Not Okay With This.

This is a guaranteed happy ending. Something that is never a given for wlw shows. Let us have this.
