Hey, I wanted to say your bingo about the 6th li is really cool, do you mind if I asked what exactly do you imagine when you say broken evol? Like out of control, sealed or something else..? And what about the 'new growth'? Cheers!
Frothing at the mouth over being asked about the entirely fictional 6th love interest in my head why yes I would be HAPPY to share my delusional ramblings about this man. He's the brainchild/hypothesis-baby between @littleappleorchard and I, so she also has some ideas about him if you're curious! (Let's call him Lewis to make things easier)
Regarding his evol, I think it would be interesting if he (with his mad-scientist tendencies) routinely conducted experiments on himself in an attempt to either gain more power or even find a way to turn regular humans into evolvers. Either way, he does it due to some kind of warped motive because I LOVE mad scientists "it's for the greater good" playing-god types. I think as a result, it could go either way from what you mentioned. I want to be careful not to step on Zayne's toes when discussing messy evol, so I think having Lewis's evol end up sealed could be an interesting way to go (again, have to be careful as to not take Sylus's quirk as well.) I think when mc manages to help unlock Lewis's evol through some sort of resonance ritual or something, his evol might actually harm her. As in, he would be quite weak prior to resonating, but he would be borderline op for short bursts after resonating at the cost of mc's health. Like in battle, after resonating, mc's health bar decreases by a third. What his actual evol type is, I'm not quite sure. I thought they were all elemental, but Sylus confuses me so it could be anything. Electricity could be interesting, though (in a Frankenstein kind of way.)
In regards to "new growth", I want the motifs to surround resilience potentially. The images coming to mind are 1) a potted plant that has fallen over, it's pot completely shattered, yet the flower has taken root in the earth's soil instead, 2) a decaying tree stump with a singular sapling shooting out of it, feeding off of the rot, and 3) the plant from Wall-E. "New growth" as in Lewis thought his fate was sealed before mc, that (going off of the first mental image I had) mc is the one who smashed his potted plant with a hammer to help him take root in the real world, with friends, love, community, and freedom. Lewis is completely new to anything outside of his very small world in the lab at Ever- he's been yearning for something greater in his life, which is how he's ended up committing crimes against nature in an effort to do "great things", all of which he has paid devastating prices for. Mc shows him that "great things" can be found in everyday, ordinary activities and people- while he might not be a Lemurian, he's definitely a fish out of water with her.
Any other questions about my theories and ideas are welcomed and HEAVILY encouraged because I love my nonexistent fella. 🌱
