@diverse-hearts-ocs inquired: "Come on - we're getting outta this stuffy place for the day". - Garth / Lia
ā| Unprompted |ā
Lia glanced up when she heard the sound of his voice, and for a moment, she wondered if this was really her boyfriend talking. Garth... The man who notoriously could spend days couped up in his room, whose depression-induced lethargy rivaled her own sense of nihilism. She knew Garth was recovering by the day, but everyone still has their bad moments. She just didn't expect him to be the one to bust them out of her apartment.
" Did you...have something in mind? " the noirette asked as she slowly stood up from her seat on the side of her bed. Maybe this wasn't like Garth, but she was glad it was him. This was leagues better than his bad days, and she supposed she should take what she could get. It was nice seeing him like this.
So, once she was on her feet, Lia drifted over to Garth as he stood in the doorway. Even without an answer, she followed him blindly. She trusted Garth. She knew he wouldn't waste her time. And, to be quite honest...if she was with him, her time wouldn't be wasted. Her dark lips tugged just slightly at one corner. " ...Where are you taking me? "
It wasn't that often that he'd make the effort to drag them outside like this - maybe to the roof, but actually leaving the tower when they didn't actually need to, it was pretty rare. Sure, he liked to pretend it was due to the trouble of the loopholes he had to jump through to get permission or he'd have Tetsuji shadowing his every move like he was some child...but he knew deep down he just lacked motivation most days. But this? It'd just popped into his mind while he'd been working on a painting and after Kouyou had agreed to help, he'd been buzzing with energy as he made his way to Lia's.
"We are going on a picnic", he grinned, looping his arm through one of her own, "And don't worry - Kouyou made the food. I don't want to poison you or anything"
That right there. That statement of purpose, that reason for getting stronger. People push themselves for all sorts of reasons, and it wasn't the pushing that gave Varka pause. No, it was his motivation. Varka knew Rai had a lot of fear when it came to his mother finding him, and if that was his only motivation, Varka would respect that. But that's not what he said, is it?
" Hold on, son, " said the Grandmaster as he held his palm out in front of Rai. He was eager to get back to training, which Varka did appreciate, but... Not like this. " Is that really why you're so focused on training. So you can be useful? " Rai was still getting used to his Vision, not to mention getting used to life outside of his mother's clutches. He didn't need to get stronger so he could be useful; he already had plenty of uses.
" Rai, your worth isn't dependent on what you can do for others, " Varka continued. If it weren't for the shield he had already put up, the man would've placed his hand down on the boy's shoulder--he had that familiar look on his face every time he made the gesture, after all. " A person's worth can't be measured at all. We're all humans, and we all matter the same. I'll gladly train you to become stronger if that's something you want, but not if you think it will make you worth something greater. You're already worthy of care. "
"H-Huh?" He allowed his shield to fade away as he tried to make sense of what Varka was trying to tell him, head tilting slightly to one side as he tried to accept his teachings with those that had been drilled into him for so long. He'd always been told that if he wasn't useful then there was no space for him. No space, no food - nothing. The Golden Witch did not accept those who were of no use to her. Not that it was her that he wanted to be useful for though, not any more.
"But why?", he frowned, generally finding the concept difficult to understand, "Why would you place time and resources into training me - if there was a chance that nothing would arise from it? Wouldn't that just be a waste?". He allowed his vision to dim as he tried to think on how to word his thoughts. At least he knew that Varka wasn't going to get angry at him for finding it difficult to understand. If he'd tried to question his mother like this - he'd have been punished for sure.
"Some humans have the skills and abilities that make them more useful than others - do they not? Like, what separated the Butterflies from the Followers...or the Followers from the Kuxing...that's what gives your life meaning, isn't it?".
"You belong to me MY SNOW WHITE QUEEN! There's nowhere to run! So let's just get it over. Soon MY LOVE, you'll see. You're just like me. Don't SCREAM anymore, MY LOVE 'Cause all I want is you!" - snow white queen, evanescence.

Elyon wasn't so fond of Mondstadt, it may be her homeland, her real one, but the bad memories still lingered far more than the good ones. She had friends here and territories to map, as well as a certain family area to avoid.
She had been waiting for an interesting commission from the Guild, taking on occasional collection quests but avoiding missions involving fights, she wasn't too good at these. Found nothing so she prepared to map that area , or at least explore deeper than before.
The map maker had caught glimpses of Garth collecting his belongings, figuring he was leaving too but didn't knew where to.
Elyon blinked in surprise when he asked her to go on a trip with him so suddenly but her eyes shimmered with interest. As someone who specialised in covering unknown territory she wasn't about to decline a surprise trip somewhere else.
" Sure thing.... i'm mostly ready.... where ? "Elyon asked curiously, wondering where they were going
He couldn't help but smile as she agreed to go with him. Even if he knew that'd just make the final farewell all that harder - it wasn't often he allowed himself to form connections like this. All he could do was hope it would never come back to affect Elyon when he was gone. "Nod Krai. Ever been?", he asked, taking a few moments extra to make sure he had the commission items all crafted and ready to turn in, "It's a bit of a trip but I'm sure there's plenty of places there have yet to be discovered".
"Ultimately though, I'm supposed to head back home. A pit stop in Nod Krai before I go back to Snezheyna is more than welcomed though". He just had to hope it had nothing to do with the Harbingers that were staioned there. His father and Sandrone were both ones he tended to avoid like the plague.

@diverse-hearts-ocs asked: ā Ā you're not seriously building a sandcastle right now.Ā ā Ashley / Orion (Fire and Ice! :3 lol) š Ā * Ā ā Ā šŗš¼š“š“š¬š¹ šØšµš« š©š¬šØšŖšÆ š·š¹š¶š“š·š»šŗ. - seasonal accepted
He tried to make a globe in his hands. But no matter how hard he tried, it fell apart. Again and again and he didn't understand why. When he watched children build a sand castle it seemed so easy, so shouldn't he be able to do so too? Was it his warmth? Did he put too much pressure on the sand? For a moment he didn't answer as he focused on trying to make the sand-form in his hands round. But as soon as he thougth he'd have it and let go of it, sand trippled dryly from his hands.
"I attempt to do so, indeed.", he looked at the half-finished 'castle' mad with some item made of plastic, he had found on the beach earlier. But he had returned it by now, "But it's... weird. What am I doing wrong?"
"The sands too fine there..." She flipped her hair behind one shoulder, crouching down to examine the work that he'd been attempting this far while she'd been sun bathing, enjoying the sun as you were supposed to do at a beach! But - she wouldn't admit it out loud, but it was nice to act a little childish when at the beach, wasn't it? It wasn't as though she'd had the time to build many castles herself while she'd been a child. Nah - she was too busy running for her life or being in a cult - the normal things!
"Over here - the sands less fine and there's barely anyone around", she smiled, tugging gently on his sleeve, "Come on, I'll show you how it's done".
@diverse-hearts-ocs asked: "...what the heck are you?", Garth mutters before he can stop himself, "...sorry but...your so bright. I've never seen that before" Randomness - always welcome!
The sun. A star. The center of his sun system. A celestial being. The giver of life. God.
"Your every day barista, being currently held in a scary basement.", he reached out his hand to the man, a weak smile displayed on his lips. However, he felt uneasy at his words and for a moment he looked down at his hand to check. No, he didn't light up, so what could he possibly mean? Did he see beyond his human shape?
"Careful though, my hand is cold to the touch. That strange man really tries hard to figure out what I am too. But I'm really just human! Like everybody else.".
As first meetings went, this wasn't the weirdest way he'd first greeted someone. Called on by Kyran, he'd only been told to heal this individual that he now stood before - but as far as his eyes could tell, there was nothing wrong with him. In fact, his aura was so bright that Garth had automatically taken a step back, uttering his words in surprise.
There was no way he was human...was there? He frowned as he tried to think on what this could mean, and how much he wanted to report back to the blonde that waited just outside the cell. "...my hands are rather cold too...", he muttered as though in a daze, before shaking his head slightly, trying to clear away the cobwebs of confusion.
"I didn't mean like that...", he carefully took a step forward, lowering his voice so hopefully he wouldn't be overheard, "Your aura...it's like nothing I've seen before, as though...as though your life itself..."
Icy blue eyes watch as her friend took the gift into his grasp, looking out for his reaction. A soft pout spreads across her lips at Garth's response to her gift. Even though he'd thanked her for the gift, she could tell he seemed upset by the look in his eyes and the single tear that slid down his cheek. Which, wasn't the reaction she expected to get from him. Did she get him the wrong gift? Does he not like his present? "I'm so sorry. Do you want another gift, dear? Is this one not satisfactory for you?" she asked, feeling like an idiot.
She shouldn't have gone to his apartment to get the photograph in the first place, as it was a dangerous task. However, she wanted to do something special for him for his birthday. And, it isn't like she had any photographs of her own of Garth's family to give him anyway.
Hesitantly she took a step closer to Garth, wanting to comfort him. Taking one of her hands, she reached out and gently placed it against his cheek. "I thought, seeing a picture of Yumeno would make you happy, but it seems I upset you instead."
"N-no...that's not it...", his arm shifted, holding the photo close to his chest as he gave her a soft smile, "Thank you for this gift. I just miss them an awful lot it all...sorry. I didn't mean to appear to be disrespectful". The last thing he wanted was for this to end up in some type of argument, or to say something that could mean the picture being taken away from him, his hand tightening around the frame slightly at that thought alone. "I mean it. So, thank you. I wasn't expecting anything at all, nevermind anything as thoughtful", he leaned over and gave her cheek a gentle kiss, before crossing over to his bed and placing the frame down on the bedside table, just under the small lamp he'd gained at some point. When was that again? Everyday was starting to blend together...he was surprised he hadn't lost his mind yet.
"So - anything planned for the day?", he asked, sitting on the edge of the bed as he rubbed his hair with a towel, trying to help it dry just a little faster.
@diverse-hearts-ocs asked: Their howls are sending chills down my spine. - Mia / Orion (lab buddies? š) Within Temptation Lyrics Starter Sentences - always accepted
Orion held still, listening in to whatever this girl could mean. He too didnāt feel all too well down there after a while. It has been a while since he had seen the lightāand it affected him more than he expected, especially with the current activity of his celestial body. Even now he could feel how some kind of pressure built up in his skull. The man did not comment on it with an expression, however, it was bearable. Just uncomfortable.
And he felt⦠weirdly drained. He usually didnāt need rest, had found himself even unable to do so. But lately he slipped into some kind of slumber. He wondered if his other body was affected as well? Surely not. Even he did not understand the exact connection between this body and his celestial one, but for what he realized was that his human body was more affected by the sun than the other way around.
āThere are other beings, aren't there? It doesn't sound human... or like anything else that was meant to be in this world.ā, he wondered out loud, his face turning into the direction the sounds came from, āThey donāt sound like anything I have ever heard.ā.
"Master calls them failed experiments", she sighed lightly, not quite understanding just what was meant by such a term. For as long as she could recall, she'd been down here within this dimly lit lab, doing her best to try and make her Master proud of her. It wasn't that often that she got to speak with new people though, which might be the reason as to why she seemed rather energetic, even though there was evidence of her body having recently been through something intensive, bandages covering the majority of her arms and a sickly pale hue present in her skin. Still, she beamed as she skipped over to Orion.
"Hi! I'm Mia! I didn't mean to scare you or anything...did I scare you? Are you okay?"
"Not in particular, mister.", he refused to call him by the name 'master' and if it wouldn't be too suspicious, he'd curl his eyebrows into a frown about such a chosen 'name'. But for now, he just feigned understanding. Humans, so he had observed, did not like to be argued with. So he would avoid in doing so.
"But its also not disturbing I would say. In fact, I find small spaces fascinating. Do you think fish in tanks feel like this too?", he asked with wonder in the tone of his voice. His eyes looked up again for a moment, wondering where that clicking sound came from. What he also didn't speak aloud, was that he wondered when the test would even start. Or has it already?
"Twenty-eight, I'm in Japan since two years now though.", he replied immediately. At least the last part was true, "They stayed in France and wouldn't want to live anywhere else.".
"I told you to refer to me as Master. I own you now". He raised his eyebrows as the male continued to talk, writing down what was said, "You are saying you are from France? Hmm - then your Japanese is impressive. The guy who first captured you spent most of his life there too", he tapped his pen again the side of the clipboard, glancing at the temperature that was still steadily falling. There didn't seem to be any discomfort in the figure before him - his body temperature was staying more or less the same, an oddity in it's own right.
"Have you not noticed how the inside of that tank is now well below freezing? It's almost hitting absolute zero...right there you are, talking away as though it's nothing".

@diverse-hearts-ocs asked: "Well, you look rather...lost" - Oei / Sehun
"Do I? Well, you see, I've tried to look for Sunsettias but they weren't anywhere nearby. So I saw this huge mountain and thought 'woah it's huge' and tried to climb it but, huge mountains are huge, so I...", like a waterfall, Sehun just started to blabber about utterly nonsense. In fact, he didn't wish to be bothered on his way to find anything to plug his spear into.
Any monsters nearby, that longed for some demise - or to be at least somewhat defeated. He had to become stronger, in order to someday protect his siblings. Stopping his long, long speech finally, the young man stared at the other person. Her hair reminding him of the setting sun behind them, drowning the entire nation of the geo archon in a mix of orange, pink and likewise colors.
He tried to smile as politely as he could currently manage, "Now, now, miss. Why are you here? You didn't happen to get lost neither, did you? It's dangerous for an old lady to be out in the wilderness."
"What a smart mouth you have there - it's almost a shame to allow you to keep it". He'd been close to approaching the hidden grounds of her temple, which is why she'd come out to get him to leave, but now he'd just annoyed her, and on her lands too. No one disrespected her like that, eyes seeming to glow for a second, before a swarm of butterflies flew directly at the blonde, their wings only cutting into him lightly as a warning. "Leave now. I can see you are nothing more than a weakling that wandered in the wrong direction".
