The Path of Redemption

He does not want to redeem himself for his Father and Sister. But he does want to redeem himself for only himself. When he reflects his past mistakes and calamity he caused, he wants to prove to everyone he can control himself and hold responsibility for his actions. Which is another why Izuno was important to him with the time he spent with Mortals.

Another reason he subtly respects them for the code of bushido. He really does admire Samurai lifestyle since even the violent or terrifying, to the weakest and benevolent of warriors only fight for what they believe in while honing their potential and showing resolve. He can't really say much for those who brings peril and thus chooses to avoid in confrontation. But if they need his blessing he will answer, usually for the most faith given.

As of recent his job for Warriors Orochi 3 is to be a Commander to the Mystic Army, but it's a very shaky position to show admiration to mortals again since they caused Orochi's returns plenty of times.

⚡Regarding his Sister And Father.⚡

Susano-o doesn't like his sister, Amaterasu at all. And it's not out of jealousy alone, but rather out of family reasons. She rules Heaven by the appointment of their Father Izanagi. To Susano-o he observed how he would always treat her as the most loved and favored child, already being Tempered enough drove him to show dislike for his father and sister. Anything she wants or says goes without question, to him it was a struggle and it won't be successful. 

If any harm comes to her, He would not really show much attention to it unless he was forced to act. Not that he believed she would be weak given her status.

Izanagi is different. Susano-o completely blames him for everything that is wrong in the family. The death of his brother Kagutsuchi despite his birth killing their mother, The place of his mother to the very vindictive Goddess of the Underworld, and the fact that Amaterasu shunned Tsukuyomi to make light and day and this was approved by their Father to keep them separate. 

At the end of the day he would rather love the company of his Mother who holds no animosity towards him since she is his mother. Probably keeping her from tipping the balance at times.

The moment Susano-o had arrived may had to be almost timed for a rescue mission. He knew someone was in danger, and yet seeing the two he mostly associated himself with almost dead had made him panic on the inside. How can he defeat Kanako when it’s the same as...

Seeing as though they were both used as weapons, Susano-o had been given limited options. Having them die was not an option, But only survival is important. Instead he had to use a hidden talent to get them caught, As a projection of himself similar to Kenshin Uesegi's but much more intimidating to hold them both.
