Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know that I’m still around, though mainly just checking up on things every now and then because next week is finals week for me! And as an animation student, that means getting everything done by Friday so I can have all weekend to work on lighting and rendering. xP I should’ve made this post before, but I’m going on a short hiatus until all my finals are over. Good luck to everyone else going through exams!

❛ well, Stella, this should be a wonderful opportunity for the two of us to get to know one another. ❜
“ Y-Yeah.. ” Or a wonderful chance for her to fail and drag someone else down with her. They had been paired up for a group research project, where each team was assigned a location and a ‘villain’, fictional but based off of existing villains. The goal was to figure out a plan that combined both team members’ quirks to best defeat their assigned villain. Overall it was a bit different than the assignments that they had been given before, and it was pretty interesting to Stella; she only hoped she wouldn’t do poorly and make the poor guy suffer along with her.
Kaminari had always seemed nice enough, but Stella had never gotten the opportunity to get to know him - until now, anyway. The one reason that he had always stuck out to Genna was because his quirk was quite similar to her father’s quirk, so in a way she sort of lucked out in having him as a partner. It wouldn’t be too hard for her to understand how his quirk worked one she had it explained to herself; the only problem would be helping him to understand HERS, and then figuring out a plan that best utilized them both together.

He hadn’t even realized what time it was when he’d left his room, but clearly it wasn’t as late as he thought it was. Seeing the time, it makes him yawn. “Oh.” Red eyed flicker from the girls face tot he package of toothbrushes in her hand. “Nah the color is fine! Pink is such a great color!.” He smiles, giving the girl a thumbs up. “I really only need the one, I don’t want to steal all of your toothbrushes.”
“ Good, I’m glad. ” Having pink hair herself, Stella never really understood the big deal. Even her father had pink hair, so why did guys shy away from it so much? Ah well, at least this guy didn’t seem to mind anyway. “ I really don’t mind. I’ve been using this electric tooth brush my grandma bought me anyway, so that’ why these haven’t even been open. If you think you’ll need them, please take them. ”

She was a life saver if she had one, his parents usually get him toothbrushes enough to last for awhile, but he’d been worrying about classes lately and his stress was causing him to brush harder than normal. Kirishima steps into the room, and leans against the wall, tapping his fingers quietly behind him. “Sorry, did I wake you? I didn’t realize the time when I’d left.” An embarrassed blush appears lightly on his cheeks.
“ Oh, no worries. I normally don’t sleep in this late on a school day. ” The distant sounds of rummaging can be heard as she shifts through a few drawers in her bathroom, emerging triumphantly with an unopened package. “ It’s a three-pack, so hopefully it’ll last you a little bit? But they’re pink.. is that okay? ”

“ A... toothbrush? ” She was a bit incredulous at first, but a short laugh left her as she waved him inside. “ Yeah, sorry — I just woke up. Gimme a sec, but I think I have one in here somewhere. ”

As they were both rushed out of the arena so the next fight could begin, Izuku’s attention was instantly perked by Stella’s reasoning. And she wasn’t wrong, indeed — everyone had watched them fight alongside each other, and knowing his own classmates, Izuku knew for sure that they all had already figured out the strategy they had gone with.
Plus, Izuku’s strength and moves weren’t exactly a secret to anyone.
Eyebrows scrunched together, Izuku brought a hand up to stroke his chin in contemplation, the gears in his head turning back and forth as a torrent of unintelligible murmurs made their way past his lips. He was completely unaware of the curious stares they were receiving thanks to his hard-to-die habit, despite having secluded themselves to a corner in the waiting area.
“A—Ah, you are right on that, I’m sure everyone has already picked on on the things we’ve been doing—I mean your quirk is really useful as a decoy? Mine isn’t exactly, uh, subtle,” He winced, “S-So it’s kinda… Hard to move around without, uh, being noticed and stuff—oh,” Izuku paused, green-colored eyes flashing brighter with an idea as he turned his gaze towards Stella, “H-How long can you, uh, keep the,” He gestured vaguely with a hand, “Mirages up? Can y-you like, affect other people in the area t-too?”
The streams of murmurs Izuku began spouting caught the girl off guard, but she managed to crack an uneasy smile anyway. It was actually kind of entertaining watching him try to formulate a plan, and the curious stares were something Stella was more than used to receiving just on her own. “ Haha, yeah.. mine is a bit more distracting. ” That was one way of putting it, at least.
“ The.. mirages? ” Teal blues blinked quickly at the boy. Had he not realized what her quirk was really about?
Pursing her lips closed, she tapped her index fingers together as she tried to think of a response. It wasn’t the easiest thing to break to someone, especially if they didn’t believe in the supernatural. “ Well, that’s the thing.. You know how some quirks.. Well, how some quirks manipulate different elements or things found in nature? Like controlling electricity, growing plants, even that one kid that speaks to insects..? ” The latter being a quirk she found particularly interesting, but that was a subject for another time.
Lowering her head a little, she sighed in defeat. There just wasn’t any other way of saying it. “ Well.. those spirits aren’t mirages — they’re actual spirits. My quirk lets me manipulate them. But.. it only works on spirits that no longer have an actual human form, so.. ”
So they were dead, but that was always the hardest part for her to say.
“ So I mean, I guess I could use them in other areas too, depending on what you had planned? ”
"Whoa whoa whoa, lighten up! I'm as cool as they come, okay?"
“ … ”
She was pretty suspicious of him. No one ever asked Stella about her quirk; not unless they were poking fun at her, at least. Most people didn’t want to know the truth behind how it worked, so it was a very curious thing for this guy to suddenly be so interested in it.
“ Well.. only if you’re serious. What do you want to know? ”
