every day i try to learn a little more math . and right now function notation is kicking my butt a little bit. i think i just have to get used to it

#f(x) just means like the opposite of x. at least right now it does #like im mostly doing graphs and stuff so f(x) is mainly a stand-in for y atm #but i know f stands for function #and i know it isn't just 'y' forever #aaahh! complicated weird hard i dunno man !!!!#but im gonna keep loining!!

some notes i took on one of the problems of solving for proportions w/ fractions. I got it wrong a few times before I realized I'd forgotten to flip. Eventually figured that out, and did n/8*5/11 = 5n/88

Now for 5n/88, how do you determine n?

5*n = 88 = TRUE

88/n = 5 = TRUE

88/5 = n = TRUE

The correct answer for finding the value of "n", is 88/5.

I still have to work a lot on this, fractions are one of my weakest points in math. But I was able to solve a few of the questions even though I didn't actually understand how, and I'm starting to at least be able to find where I'm making mistakes. I have hope!

fractions remain my achilles heel and solving these for unknowns is SO hard for no damn reason. hoping i can parse through the logic if i just keep working at it...
