Not all toxic people are cruel and uncaring. Some of them love us dearly. Many of them have good intentions. Most are toxic to our being simply because their needs and way of existing in the world force us to compromise ourselves and our happiness. They arenât inherently bad people, but they arenât the right people for us. And as hard as it is, we have to let them go. Life is hard enough without being around people who bring you down, and as much as you care, you canât destroy yourself for the sake of someone else. You have to make your wellbeing a priority. Whether that means breaking up with someone you care about, loving a family member from a distance, letting go of a friend, or removing yourself from a situation that feels painful â you have every right to leave and create a safer space for yourself.
Daniell Koepke (via wordsnquotes)
I was never much of a believer in fate Until I realized Ours didn't align
I crave the side of you that you donât show to anyone else.

Walking, Vscocam, Landscape, Forrest, Fog, Nature, EyeEm Best Shots, Autumn, Exploring, Morning by Johannes H. on EyeEm
Did you ever read a book that shattered your heart into pieces so small that it felt like your heart disappeared and you just want to go back and read that book again to feel that feeling all over again because it was so beautiful and so ugly because that is the kind of feeling I feel every time I look at you.

That was the trouble with letting people in- once youâd taken off the armor, it was hard to put it back on.

Forest near Loch Eck, Argyll and Bute, Scotland by Gordon Rafferty
You spend a lot of time building walls. Itâs natural that you want to see if someone is clever enough to climb over them

Admit it. You arenât like them. Youâre not even close. You may occasionally dress yourself up as one of them, watch the same mindless television shows as they do, maybe even eat the same fast food sometimes. But it seems that the more you try to fit in, the more you feel like an outsider, watching the ânormal peopleâ as they go about their automatic existences. For every time you say club passwords like âHave a nice dayâ and âWeatherâs awful today, eh?â, you yearn inside to say forbidden things like âTell me something that makes you cryâ or âWhat do you think deja vu is for?â. Face it, you even want to talk to that girl in the elevator. But what if that girl in the elevator (and the balding man who walks past your cubicle at work) are thinking the same thing? Who knows what you might learn from taking a chance on conversation with a stranger? Everyone carries a piece of the puzzle. Nobody comes into your life by mere coincidence. Trust your instincts. Do the unexpected. Find the others.

Like most sensitive souls, you already know youâre sensitive. You soak up othersâ moods and desires like a sponge. You absorb sensation the way a paintbrush grasps each color it touches on a palette.
