Yaaaayyyy!! Wonderful day, brilliant news- MoMA put online 65000 works from their collection. I’m sitting and looking, can’t stop it :D  There lots of amazing stuff, artists I've never heard about- or I've heard once and I forget and I’m discovering them again.

Here Philip Pearlstein- American realist, nude painter. Through decades of his career his works became strong and inherent part of contemporary american realism. If I will have some time I would totally love to compare him with Lucian Freud. They are almost same age, and they both painting similar subject.  

Here Pearlstein’s Male Model, Minstrel Marionettes, and Unfinished Painting, from 1994. Beautiful human figure, personally I can feel some traditional accents like pose, and depicted body. But at the end Pearlsteins style is realistic and surprisingly modern. Well done!

Saul Leiter great succseeded american photographer, one of creators of New York school photography in 50s. When he was 23, he came from native Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to New York to become a painter. Everybody founding him as the master of photography but painting was his first passion. Last exhibition in Photographers Gallery is suprisingly showing his few artistic works- mostly depictions of nudity. Here I choose some different. They are light, easy and colorful works. Lovely thing is that his small pictures were often create in small notebooks, page by page filled with funny, bright shapes of varoius things.

Shabby, totally windy, rainy and cold last days in London..

I don’t share photography on the blog but last time Photographers Gallery served me huuuge pleasure to meet an icon of american photography- Saul Leiter. There is so many fields of arts that I love- I can’s show only paintings :PHuuhh, I dont know how to describe my happiness in the moment when I passed doors and I discovered that I know these photos. I have them on my computer, downloaded randomly.

Exhibiotion contain black small part of black and white photographs, early colours works (the best!!), pictures from period of time when Leiter was an art director for Harper’s Bazaar and- the most suprising and entirly charming- paintings.

Elegant shots depicts people of New York, intense color details in tasteful mood. Definietly art department od last movie ‘Carol’ was under the influence of Leiter’s works.

Wizard Sergiej Parajanov amazing director and his magical imaginarium. His films looks like moving paintings, last time I’ve noticed that he created lots of collages.

Something between abstract and realism.  He interprate fashion and impressionism in his works. Amazing style.

L. S Lowry,  Self Portrait: The Man With Red Eyes, 1938

Amazing work made by one of really characteristic british painters Laurence Stephen Lowry. Definietly I would recomend to go and see that in painting the gallery. Unfortunately that was only one pic I could find in the internet. It makes huge impression, one of the best portraits in room 31- National Portrait Gallery, London.
