DOOR KNOCKING AND COLD CALLS. If you've ever had to cold call to find new clients, you'll appreciate this story. My first real sales job was selling Kirbyville vacuum cleaners door to door. The toughest part was getting someone to let them into your house - here's how I did it. Knock knock. "Hello sir. Has anyone been by to give you your absolutely FREE can of Comet house cleaner yet today? No? Well here you go!" (I hand it over but am still holding onto it) "Great. Well all we ask is for your honest opinion about our amazing home cleaning solution. You look like an honest person?" I'm actually sizing him up for effect... "well ummmm, yeah damn right! I pride myself on being honest." I release the can of Comet into his hand. "That's great sir. I will be right back!" I run to the van and grab a $1500 Kirby that he didn't know that he needed and begin the presentation... #coldcalls #ineedwork #trustory

STAND UP FOR SAFETY II. Production began this month on a new safety video and along with this comes my safety training. In a group of 53 people I'd say that I knew less than every one of the workers on the tools. Shell is fully committed to safety in ways that I couldn't have imagined. ANGEL HAD EYE SURGERY. We're all very happy that Zoey's eye surgery went well today. She had a Google so one eye went one way and one eye went the other. She's in great spirits and taking the doctors orders; playing LOTS of video games to get her eye muscles toughened up. Technology these days! #blessedwith4daughters #fatherhood

MIRACLES FROM HEAVEN. Spent Good Friday with my own miracles watching this movie. They LOVED it! Heart Buggy says, "predictable but loved it".
