“ ah — the games. ” the reminder that not all that long ago, she had participated in the games made her grin; she could not help herself, she always felt just the smallest bit nostalgic at the reminder. at the time, the games had been fun. they had not yet been what they would later become — playground for feuds older than her — and so they had been enjoyable. “ they were surely … something, though i doubt i’ll miss them much. and — i guess that’s the power of flowers and their scents. ” 

dj remembered the huge dragons that came to be and nodded with her. yeah, they were fun and wild but uh....not worth it in the long run. dragons were fucking SCARY as hell. “i’m with ya there, gm sherry.” he told her. he hummed and began to fidget just a bit. “oh! i almost forgot.” he held up a black folder, with the QC crest on it. official and everything. “here’s the cross-training plans from the OG. i’m pretty excited for this, ya know? lamia has some cool mages, which uh---you...already know.” he felt a bit embarrassed but shrugged. “any way i could get some tips from you of who i should look forward to working with?” or even, avoid.

caffeine  was  crucial in dealing with neil, but she was not about to reveal this particular piece of knowledge to an — outsider. “ my tea doesn’t have much caffeine, but it still helps me get through the day — sometimes, a guildmaster needs strong nerves, ” she said with a shrug, then she  grew  at the mention of the garden. “ ah — thank you. i’ve —  we’ve  worked hard on it. especially on the herbs. ”

“well gm sherry, i’d say after watching ya in the games a few years--you have enough nerve for anyone.” and that was well. the truth. he turned his smile back towards the garden. “i bet it smells nice, too! i met this lady once who had a flower shop in eastern fiore, she was scary, but the store smelled so nice i almost forgot about how scary she was.”

“yo gm sherry--i’m so sorry! i just like. i’ve never been to zinnia or lamia scale and so when i teleported it was harder to pinpoint a location! next time i will make sure to be outside when i teleport!” he was being genuine, here.

dj hummed at the woman before him, but before them was a beautiful sunset. there was an easy smile on his face and he glanced over at her. "this is beautiful, isn't it? sometimes life gives ya a nice scene, huh?" he let out a happy sigh and swung his arms a little. he liked to be constantly moving. "i'll be honest with ya, i don't think i've ever met anyone like you. it's not a BAD thing though, i love meeting different people."

elian liked sunsets, but only for what followed them. she had spent many hours of her life, watching the moon grace the night sky with its quiet presence. sometimes, she had thought of resce when she had looked at the moon and then, she had been sad. so many years after his death, it was still something that hurt. grief was like that, she supposed. easy to court, difficult to show out the door. she did not know how mortals could do it — their lifespans were so short and their loved ones so fragile.

in her long lifetime, she had not lost many cherished people, but she had lost enough to know that each time, they took a part of her heart with them that she would never see again. most days, she still felt whole — because the part they had taken from her, they had gifted her with others. with memories of happy hours, with the knowledge that few were the same before and after they had loved.

running a hand through her hair, she shrugged as she settled down on the biggest rock, careful not to dent it with her other hand. many things could be explained away, her moulding rock like clay probably could not. “ i hold a fondness for the moonlit skies, ” she said, careful to avoid the mention of stars. once, she had liked them as well, but after her brother’s actions, she could barely stand their sight. it was … too painful to see all the constellations and to know in the depths of her heart that she would  always  miss those still locked behind gilded gates.

“ —there aren’t many people like me, and it’s generally safer not to know them, ” she added slowly, sea-deep eyes still focusing on the painting the skies were painting above her. it was true, no? one brother, locked away. another, hiding from the consequences of his actions and her wrath.

DJ & HIS MAGIC

as explained, he is a teleportation mage first but he does know basic air magic. when he found out he had an air magic affinity, he learned basic air magic because of it before he found out about teleportation magic and he was basically like ‘oh word?’ and poured  a lot of his time into that. 

the reason he is so good at teleportation magic is not because of his affinity, but because he tried very hard to learn about it and read a lot about it as well as practiced it a lot. he is more powerful than he looks and sometimes he just ... does spells without thinking about it. that leads into his more impulsive nature and how he ends up in the most WILD places. 

when he does fight, he uses more hand-to-hand combat. he can easily sneak up on people and get out of the way for attacks. like racer, people may think he is really fast when in reality, he is teleporting himself close to the target(s) and getting his hits in and is easily able to move away from their counters. his air magic can come into play because he can move wind currents to confuse his opponent(s) and also create small explosions with the molecules in the air. 

his hand-to-hand combat was originally taught by his father. because his father was a non-magic fighter and he taught his son all about the skills of being able to fight. and he kept on teaching himself and improving his skills after he left home. anything to make him better fit as a mage who does work, after all!

that all said - dj doesn’t really enjoy violent situations. if anything, he’d like to talk it out with people first and see if they can get to a different solution. but he isn’t a pacifist because he WILL fight when he needs too. don’t let his laid back attitude fool you, because he can and will throw hands when needed.
