I'm begging anyone with a copy of Everybody Lives– But No One Makes It Out Alive by Anonymous_Radish to share this fic with me. It's my absolute favorite Codywan fic, and they've deleted it and I legit started crying because I just wanted to read my comfort fic while I was stuck in the bathroom during an IBS episode, but it's gone.

thinking about winchesters and last names

about sam retiring from actively hunting. he and eileen do the same kind of thing bobby did, giving advice and etc, but they're mostly retired. they have a little life of their own. and when they get married, sam takes eileen's last name. it's not about shame or spite or cuz he just doesn't like his last name. it's because sam winchester was a hunter and a bit of a legend. he was a man who never got to be much of a boy, a child burdened with a family name and family curse he's not old enough to remember. but he's retired now and marrying the woman he loves. and maybe it's time sam winchester was put to rest. he's lived a lifetime as sam winchester. maybe he wants to spend the rest of his life living relatively peacefully, as sam leahy.

about dean retiring from hunting and running his own place that's a lot like harvelle's roadhouse. its a casual place tho, open to normal people and hunters. its a rest spot for hunters who need it. a waypoint for wanderers needing direction. he's sober now, as hard as it sometimes is and as ironic as it feels considering his place has a bar that he often mans. and when he and cas get married (not that they actually needed to, but maybe they wanted something to celebrate and look back on as a real marker of how far they've come), cas chooses to take dean's last name. cas never had a last name of his own. sure, there were cases where he used "novak," but it wasn't ever his. and maybe cas just wants to take deans last name. and dean himself... he doesn't want to be rid of it. dean has spent too many years fighting to figure out and maintain who he is to want to let go of his last name. dean winchester is a legend who's lived several lifetimes in one, but maybe, now that the world is safe, he wants to be dean winchester... the retired legend.

maybe there's nothing wrong with either winchester brother's choice in name. maybe it's their own ways of being at peace with who they are and the lives they've lived

If you haven’t started already, start archiving/downloading everything. Save it to an external hard drive if you’re able. Collecting physical media is also a good idea, if you’re able.

Download your own/your favorite fanfics. Save as much as you can from online sources/digital libraries. Recipes, tutorials, history, LGBTQ media, etc. It has been claimed, though I can’t find the exact source if true, that some materials about the Revolutionary War were deleted from the Library of Congress.

It’s always better to be safe than sorry and save and preserve what you can. Remember that cloud storage also is not always reliable!

Library of Congress - millions of books, films and video, audio recordings, photographs, newspapers, maps, manuscripts.

Internet Archive - millions of free texts, movies, software, music, websites, and more. Has been taken offline multiple times because of cyber attacks last month, it has recently started archiving again.

Anna's Archive - 'largest truly open library in human history.’

Queer Liberation Library - queer literature and resources. Does require applying for a library membership to browse and borrow from their collection.

List of art resources - list of art resources complied on tumblr back in 2019. Not sure if all links are still operational now, but the few I clicked on seemed to work.

Alexis Amber - TikToker who is an archivist who's whole page is about archiving. She has a database extensively recording the events of Hurricane Katrina.

it makes me so fucking angry. Why do palestinians trying to escape genocide have to ask how you are. Why do they have to apologize for sending asks. Why must every message stast with saying they wish the reader well, they they hope you're doing okay, that they're so sorry to bother you. FYI if your employer does this, if they have done it for a long time especially, you and your coworkers could be owed huge amounts of unpaid wages and it would be an easy suit if there is a paper trail like this and your employer is placing strict requirements on your behavior while not at work. Employment lawyers generally work on contingency. Just food for thought.

A national park I worked at had all the permanent rangers (I was seasonal) basically on stand by for call outs 24-7 or they were penalized on their reviews.

They got tired of it, sued, won, and the nps had to pay back YEARS of back wages for stand by time. Now they are all scheduled and if* you get called out its time and a half.

ONLY because some rangers stood up.
