When you think about it, radiostatic has the chance to cash in on over 30 years of build-up and never fulfilled homoeroticism the fandoms have always attributed to the red guy vs blue guy rivalry .

It started with Goku and Vegeta, then Naruto and Sasuke, Ichigo and Grimmjow, those red and blue guys from the basketball anime, those red and blue guys from the swimming anime, those Voltron guys, I think the volleyball anime also had something like that….you get the idea.

Imagine Hazbin Hotel being the show that finally makes that type of relationship canonically a romantic one.

I dunno man, maybe because it’s the Hell Kingpin doing the hanky panky in front of a tied up Freddy Krueger that’s kinda making that difficult for me.

I swear, the ‘cuck chair’ scene is one the most overanalysed, misconstrued and deliberately misrepresented moments of season 2.

When the camera panned over to show that Alastor had been brought along to Vox’ victory sex as the punchline for the whole ‘I won’ parade gag I laughed, but apparently I failed to read it for the vile sexual assault moment it actually was so points off to my morality I guess.

The scene that launched a hundred discourse dreadnoughts into the Great Hazbin Hotel ship war, because yes, 8/10 it’s about whose ship is morally superior to the other or who deserves to be with whom.

I’m sure there are ppl genuinely upset about the show making light of these topics and it IS an icky scene, joke or not, but the vast majority of the comments have such a blatant ‘ i’m only vocal about this topic cuz my ship has something to morally gain from it’ intent to it that I can’t help but be put off by it.

Seeing people on twitter call for boycotting Spindlehorse and official merchandise in support of the artist when said artists’ main source of revenue likely comes from Spindlehorse itself sure was something.

I’ve been in various fandoms for over two decades and I’ve never EVER encountered a studio or company this lenient towards monetisation of fan art and fan works so the fact that ppl weren’t willing for even five minutes to give them the benefit of the doubt and wait to see what could have led to this decision was disheartening.

Yes, artist SHOULD be supported, especially in this day and age and any chance for extra cash is a good thing, but going on the offensive in 0.02 seconds on one of the only explicitly anti-AI, 2D animation focused, openly queer supporting and queer representing studios WHOSE ARTIST HAVE A UNION (!!!!!) is insane.

Especially when the queer female creator from an immigrant family has been on the receiving end of one of the most vitriolic hate campaigns I’ve ever seen a creator get subjected to. Of course detractors immediately jumped in with so much enthusiasm because they saw a new chance to call Viv a monster and feel righteous doing so.

I won’t say I’m not slightly disappointed that the new Buffy series didn’t get picked up, but I’m honestly also relieved. Despite the original having flaws, it’s placed on such a high pedestal (at least I do ) that any revival likely would not be able to live up to it. Sad for the cast who were clearly looking forward to this tho.

But if it’s true that Hulu has not given up on the idea of doing something with the Buffy franchise, then allow me to bring back my hope that we will get an animated series :)

Just found out about the firefly ANIMATION!!!! Please let them consider this for Buffy too. This way they can continue not long after end of the show. I long for early 00s fashion style!!!!

One thing I believe AI will cause is a decline in appreciation and awe for visually stunning animation. Like the stuff people love from studios like UFOtable or Mappa, impressive fight scenes, glossy designs or beautiful backgrounds. There will be an oversaturation of those elements, it’ll come to feel cheap and mundane. Bright side is (if you can call it that) that this will push audiences into seeking new aspects to value in entertainment and encourage artists and writers etc to be more creative and experimental with their work.

Painful part is that the industry supporting human made art will be reduced significantly either way, so I can’t even call this take semi-optimistic.

A theory that’s been crawling around in my brain since it’s been revealed that Alastor might not be aware of being ace, and it’s something the show wants to explore, is that he might believe that romantic feelings must entail desire and passion of the physical kind, something which society, culture and media at large does enforce, and since his loins never reacted to anyone he thinks he’s never experienced love. Only he has, he just never recognised it as being in love because that physical aspect was missing.

And yes, I am mainly referring to one specific relationship from his past where this theory might apply.
