Kevin is one of those students who, from the very first year, understood a simple but important thing: studying is VERY important, and if you don’t want to suffer, it’s better to do everything on time. He’s not a genius and not a “nerd” in the stereotypical sense—he just knows how to manage his time (yes, even training doesn’t get in the way). As soon as the professor announces the topic of a term paper, Kevin is already opening his laptop, creating a document, outlining a plan, and gradually getting to work. He doesn’t have late-night breakdowns, frantic searches for sources at three in the morning, or that feeling like the world is collapsing and life is pain (yep, he’s definitely not a Drama Queen). So all his assignments and papers get submitted effortlessly. He sleeps well, lives calmly, and meets every deadline because he controls his time.
Nicky, on the other hand, is a completely different story. He’s that student who always thinks he still has time. His logic goes something like “I’ll do it tomorrow,” then “there’s still a whole month,” and suddenly “oh no, I’m screwed!” And then, two weeks before the deadline, the real quest begins. His life turns into an endless cycle: coffee, writing, panic (ERIC, GOODBYE, I WON’T SURVIVE), more coffee. Sleep becomes a luxury, and all the “Foxes” can see the huge dark circles under his eyes. His room is constantly lit by the glow of his laptop screen, dozens of tabs are open, and his mind is a complete mess. Most importantly, he always promises himself that next time he’ll do everything on time. Spoiler—he won’t.
Andrew and Aaron just watch the chaos their cousin creates. They don’t rush or stress. They simply do everything on time, just like Kevin. Calmly, they observe as Nicky once again goes through his two-week marathon of chaos, sometimes even feeling a bit sorry for him, but fully understanding that it’s his choice—and that he should already realize what’s best for him. He’s a grown man, after all. If you chose to rest then, you work now. And while Nicky is trying to finish a chapter at three in the morning, they’ve long since finished their work and are doing their own things or just relaxing.
Neil, like Nicky, does everything at the last moment. But not because he procrastinates—just because studying, for him, is hell.
