2 years ago DKA put out this record of unapologetic Prince worship. The Prince roots run deep in everything we do and we were super stoked to put out something that paid tribute to that vibrant and beautifully funky Minneapolis sound. Thanks to Josh Foxx and Jeremiah Meece for letting us have this record in our discography.
Tifaret - Keep On Driving Baby
First new music from my Tifaret project in a year. More from this project on DKA hopefully in the Fall.
You won’t say what I need you to baby just start the car I can’t say what I need to you how did we get this far keep on driving baby keep on driving baby don’t you wanna save me don’t you wanna save me I don’t know where you’re going to the factories look like stars I just know where I want to be and it’s anywhere you are Keep on driving baby My eyes are getting hazy aren’t you gonna save me aren’t you gonna save me Detroit is singing in my veins I can’t tell what’s real keep on moving changing lanes you’re not behind the wheel my baby found a way out my baby found a way out I can’t see a way out I can’t see a way out She’s not coming back now She’s not coming back now My baby found a way out I can’t find a way out

Thank you to Brainwashed.com readers for voting “Strategies Against The Body” number 6 in their “Best compilations of 2016″ poll!
http://brainwashed.com
“Other than current EBM darlings High-Functioning Flesh, many of the artists on this compilation have a relatively low profile, yet any one of them have the potential to be the next big thing. The DKA label has done an exceptional job in their small catalog with curating amazing work from current industrial and synth pop artists, and this is yet another testament to that.”
While I’m on the ‘best of 2015′ subject, the Circa Tapes record DKA released was included on this mix of ‘Best Goth Releases of 2015′
We’re so proud to be included on this!
Since it’s late Christmas Day and I’m bored, I decided to finally type up my favorite records of 2015 list. Check it.
1. Lycia - A Line That Connects
The best post-punk/goth band of the 90s took off a decade or so in the 00s but they came back in 2013 with “Quiet Moments”, a lovely and occasionally surprising first effort back that felt like a solo record for songwriter Mike Van Portfleet, and that was a wonderful record but this is something else entirely. A full reunion of their 90s lineup, you’d think it was a return to the sound of classics like “Cold” and the first 5 or 6 tracks certainly encourages that reading, but with “An Awakening” the record explodes, blooming into a crushingly heavy psychedelic goth masterpiece. Insane.
2. Haujobb - Blendwerk
Another cult 90s band rejecting the idea that they should be fading into irrelevance in their 3rd (!) decade, Haujobb here slips from the slick Depeche Mode industrial pop of their last album into a brutal EBM/techno machine reminiscent of industrial techno hero Perc remixing “Der Mussolini” era DAF.
3. Disasterpeace - It Follows OST
John Carpenter style analog worship melding with strange new tones only possible through modern digital means made this the best horror synth soundtrack since “Beyond The Black Rainbow”.
4. The Body & Krieg - s/t
By now you know if you like The Body’s form of industrial metal or not, but their consistency even when collaborating with outside artists is awe-inspiring.
5. Celldod - Mekaniskt Gransland
20 Acid House Greats. We at DKA are expecting to be doing some stuff with him in 2016, and he’s already taking this to the next level. Stay tuned.
6. Cliff Martinez - The Knick Season 2 OST
Martinez has never been better than he is on The Knick. Dark, dreamy, and nasty, this deserves another DAF reference, but filtered through Tangerine Dream. What else do you need?
7. Blawan - Warm Tonal Touch (EP)
Modular synth meets industrial techno. Dem drums tho.
8. Agent Side Grinder - Alkimia
Some of the best goth pop I’ve heard in years. If you love classic OMD/Depeche Mode and you need a new favorite band, this is a great place to start.
9. My Disco - Severe
Early Swans worship. Drum machine headache heaven.
10. Tropic Of Cancer - Stop Suffering (EP)
ToC continues to run circles around nearly everyone else in the post-punk world. Chase those 4AD dreams.
