That's the problem with drinking, I thought, as I poured myself a drink. If something bad happens you drink in an attempt to forget; if something good happens you drink in order to celebrate; and if nothing happens you drink to make something happen.

pixar please do these again why did you stop doing these
âHuman relationships are strange. I mean, you are with one person a while, eating and sleeping and living with them, loving them, talking to them, going places together, and then it stops.â

âWhat no one tells you about grief is that you donât want to figure out a way to live with itâyou want the part of you that hurts to die instead.â

Consider this: You can see less than 1% of the electromagnetic spectrum and hear less than 1% of the acoustic spectrum. As you read this, you are traveling at 220 km/sec across the galaxy. 90% of the cells in your body carry their own microbial DNA and are not âyou.â The atoms in your body are 99.9999999999999999% empty space and none of them are the ones you were born with, but they all originated in the belly of a star. Human beings have 46 chromosomes, 2 less than the common potato. The existence of the rainbow depends on the conical photo-receptors in your eyes; to animals without cones, the rainbow does not exist. So you donât just look at a rainbow, you create it.

Dear Karen, If youâre reading this it means I actually worked up the courage to mail it, so good for me. You donât know me very well but if you get me started I have a tendency to go on and on about how hard the writing is for me. But this, this is the hardest thing Iâve ever had to write. Thereâs no easy way to say this so Iâll just say it, I met someone. It was an accident, I wasnât looking for it, it wasnât on the make, it was a perfect storm. She said one thing, I said another, next thing I knew, I wanted to spend the rest of my life in the middle of that conversation. Now thereâs this feeling in my gut she might be the one. Sheâs completely nuts in a way that makes me smile, highly neurotic with a great deal of maintenance required, she is you, Karen. Thatâs the good news. The bad is I donât know how to be with you right now. And that scares the shit out of me. Because if Iâm not with you right now, I have this feeling that weâll get lost out there. Itâs a big, bad world full of twists and turns. And people have a way of blinking and missing the moment. The moment that could have changed everything. I donât know whatâs going on with us, and I canât tell you why you should waste the leap of faith on the likes of me, but damn you smell good. Like home. And you make excellent coffee. Thatâs got to count for something right? Call me. Unfaithfully yours, Hank Moody.
