Samhain - 31th of October
During Samhain (Sow-win) the veil between our world and the spirit world is at it’s thinnest. there is now a possibility to look into that world and for spirits to more easily visit ours. It is the perfect timing for a seance or divination involving ancestors.
This Sabbat stands for death, rebirth, magic, knowledge, succes, protection, peace and change. Also marks the end of the harvest season.
Colours: Orange, gold, yellow, black, red, brown.
Flowers, plants & trees: Bur, acacia, marigold, blackthorn, cedar, chrysanthemum, cipris, locust, comfrey, dandelion, heather, heliotropium, mugwort, nettle, oak, passion flower, patchouli, pennyroyal, sandalwood, sunflower, thistle, tobacco, wormwood, yew, appletree, beech, willow, witch hazel, angelica.
Food, drinks & herbs: Apples, corn, meat, hazelnut, potatoes, pear, pomegranate, pumpkin, pumpkin seeds, nuts, red beets, sweet potatoes, gluhwein, herbal tea’s, almond, allspice, basil, coriander, garlic, cinnamon, clove, ginger, rosemary, pine nuts, saffron, sage, anise, myrrh, tarragon, thyme, ginseng.

Activities: Have a dumb supper, have a seance, commemorate the death ; light a candle, talk about them etc. Put lights outside to guide lost spirits and put offerings for them outside, do divination, anything to do with past lives, make jack-o-lanterns, dress up.
