Slow days in the ICU get me like, boy I wish somebody would be dying. Just a tiny bit.
That’ll last for exactly as long as you actually wish for a quiet shift for once. Then it’s panic, dying, chaos, everywhere, all day….

This is in no way RPG related but I just heard someone call a doctor "you hippocratic oaf" and I needed to share that
Nothing like going to bed. Yay I get blanket time!
Nothing sadder than wake up time. What do you mean I need to leave the kingdom of warms?
I had been taught to write my patients' discharge papers pretty well, in my humble opinion. Be precise, focused, stay relevant, and keep it short. Include only the important/relevant labs, imaging, ect...
This place where I'm doing my current location at? They suck at this. Today I watched them print 46 pages of a discharge paper for one patient. 46 pages. What the hell man who in their right mind is going to read that? It's past short novel length, what is wrong with you

Well put. (Source: Writing About Writing Facebook page)
as a lawyer who’s been practicing for six years now I can say with certainty that this 100% applies to lawyers

Medblrs, who's still around?
I'm aware that it's been some years since my previous medblr list and previous medblr roll call posts. Over the years we've built a thriving and supportive medblr community, which we've been really lucky to have. I'm using medblr in the widest sense, here - nurses, PAs, pharmacists abd all sorts of other professions are welcome.
Years have passed. Many of us have continued to live offline lives or post less frequently because work, kids, other interests and just life got in the way. Some have changed specialties. I know that there have been years I've been fairly quiet because life was busy! But even if you post infrequently, youre still a valued part of the community. Please feel free to reblog and add yourself to the list.
Some left the sphere of medicine, that's cool too - if you ever identified as a medblr, there's still a place for you here.
New medblr friends have joined - why not introduce yourselves? It would be great to make some new connections in this sphere.
I'm also curious about non medblrs who lurk here for fun.
I'll start first. I'm @dxmedstudent (she/her, late 30s), I also go by Tink (that predates my blog here and is somewhat unrelated). I started my blog here over 10 years ago when I was a UK med student writing med student comics which can still be found over at @dxmedicalstudent .
I spent some years in hospital medicine before becoming a GP this past summer. I haven't changed my name or icons in that time so if you think you remember me, you're probably right.
Lovely to meet you all, and to say hi to old friends.
Ooh I apparently missed this the first time it was posted!
I have had this blog a while, since I was a 2nd year med student, and now I've graduated, done a masters and been a doctor 5 years and I'm training in the specialty I love
I havent changed my url but now help im an anaesthetist would be more accurate! I am still moderately active and post about random things that happen at work and I am happy to answer any asks about medicine as best I can
Still here -- done with EM residency and starting my first attending job as a travel/locums doc. Super nervous.
I miss this community a lot actually and sometimes scroll idly through, wishing it was more active in the medblr sphere. Thank you for restarting this.
Also still here (a lot more rarely than I used to as residency is kicking my butt).
I made this blog more than 7 years ago when I was a 3rd year medical student starting my research year and now I’m in my 3rd year of vascular surgery residency, still trying to somehow navigate surgical and clinical education, research, teaching and good ol‘ hospital politics…
This community has helped me through a lot and I love seeing who is still here and where y’all endet up, so thanks @dxmedstudent for starting this!
