I wore this shirt to the bar last night. I received noticeably more distasteful looks from women than I did from men. One woman went as far as to make eye contact with me and shake her head disapprovingly. And for a brief moment I sat on my bar stool and felt embarrassed, like I had made a mistake by announcing I’m just as good or bad as any man here. I had broken the unspoken rule and people were noticing. While drinking my scotch and feeling mildly insecure, it hit me in the heart. I was embarrassed for walking into a room wearing a shirt that establishes ‘I believe women* deserve equality and I fight for them’. There is NOTHING in this statement to be ashamed of. Upon this affirmation, I suffocated my self-doubt and my evening was reborn. I complimented the head shaking woman on my way out of the bar and a look of genuine flattery with a hint of guilt washed over her face. Spread love, compassion and the concept of ‘no lesser person’ to all. And fight the fucking patriarchy every chance given
Beautiful and well done. *applause*
I want to be her friend.
Hey looks it’s the post that got me disembowlment, death and rape threats. An anti-feminist blogger publish my home address. 4chan shared this post and attacked my blog. Someone sent my boss a link to this. I shut down a 20k blog out of fear that someone would comb through it and find more details on me I thoughtlessly posted. Sharing this experience two years ago introduced me to some wonderful women but also validated how scary the internet can be, how nasty threatened men can be, and how badly we still need feminism. Stay safe and stay smart on the internet!
all that because she wore a shirt smh

LGBT groups in Boston made history this weekend.
For decades, organizers of Boston’s St. Patrick’s Day parade have banned LGBT groups from participating — so adamantly that the conflict had to be settled by the Supreme Court years ago. That rule changed Sunday, though, when the gay veterans group OutVets and the LGBT rights group Boston Pride marched alongside others at the parade.
"We march today for the memories of those thousands and thousands of people who went before us, some who went to their graves in the closet," OutVets founder and leader and Air Force veteran Bryan Bishop told his group before the parade. He called it "the beginning of the mission of this organization to honor the service and sacrifice of every single LGBT veteran, their family, their allies and every veteran in this country who fought so selflessly to defend the rights that we hold dear."
Sarah Jo Gomez-Lorraine, a Naval officer and OutVets member taking part in the march, said it’s an honor to represent gay veterans who never got the opportunity to come out.
"I feel today that I stand on the shoulders of giants who’ve gone before me and never got to see this in their lives," she said. "It’s very humbling to be able to stand in places that others never got to."
Not bad at all. Happy St. Patty’s, loves.
ICYMI: In which a 13-year-old boy comes out to his best friend via text message, and adorable unconditional support ensues. Ain’t nothing wrong with being gay, my friend. (via BuzzFeed)
what makes it more adorable is he offered to call when he knew something was wrong
I also love how often the word bro was used
This is the proper way to be a bro.

menstrual sanitary products are not and should not be considered a luxury in this modern society they are ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY as a part of important hygienic gynecologic health. all people with vaginas DESERVE to have free access to them
we’re so close to revealing which state is the most homophobic
The most Powerful scene of the whole series.
This scene is so beautiful to me because it’s one of those things the writers put in for the older viewers despite the overwhelming younger demographic, but instead of some kind of sexual joke, it’s an actually powerful wake-up call.
Just because someone is of the same blood as you, doesn’t mean you automatically have to love them. Your family needs to earn your love and respect, not mandate it due to the presence of mutual genes. And I think that’s something a lot of us don’t realize until we’re older, and it’s a bit too late.
So, apparently the Walking Dead, added a Homosexual Male Couple, and they got some bad responses from a few, such a shame, some people are like this. ( i don’t watch the show but coming from the responses, like these, i can tell, they did so )
A show with maggot-ridden food, rotting, flesh-eating corpses, and cannibals, yet the grossest thing on it is two men, who are in love, kissing. In-fucking-credible.
It was a beautiful and tender scene between two great characters. The writers were really excited about introducing gay people to the show because 1.) gay people exist and 2.) they have gay viewers of the show. People are RIDICULOUS.

Reblog this you little shits.
Always reblog.
I very rarely get angry, but this is one of the things that makes me want to scream at everyone responsible. I had to keep taking breaks while writing this because of how frustrated it made me.
This needs WAY more attention than it gets.
So I just learned that enough hate was directed towards a wonderful person to cause her to delete her works and leave the fandom. It makes me sad to see this happen again and again in every fandom.
People who spend time of their own to create something for free should never be picked upon.
