The Sorcerers know something we donât.
Remember this exchange:
Selvig: The Tesseract is showing me so much. ItâsâŠitâs more than knowledge, itâs truth. Loki: I know.

She had dealt with plenty of obstacles in her time practicing overseas. From blatant sexism to those who didnât like âforeign doctorsâ of any type, she had heard (and survived) it all. Moira didnât take Strange for harboring either of those biases, however, or it wasnât quite the driving force behind his less than friendly demeanor. She knew his type, brilliant and hungry for nothing but glory. What an absolute waste of a scientific mind.
âWell, if you donât want help, Dr. Strange, then by all means continue to work on your own. I just thought that you might be interested in this case, and as it was assigned to meâŠâ Her sly smile returned, as she gave a shrug. âItâs quite a peculiar case, one sure to attract a lot of attention.â
[ @doctcrstrange ]
Strange honestly didnât have the attention span for this sort of dull conversation, and yet his sights were again focused on her whenever she mentioned something worthwhile. His cup being put back down on the counter, and he turned her way with his arms folding across his chest. âCount me intrigued, then? You had me at attraction.â Maybe sheâs actually interesting. Who knows. Her practices that Iâve read up on are........ questionable, to say the least. âThis better not be something weird.â | @talonedbansheeâ |
âTime is the true enemy of us all. Time kills everything. Time is what enslaves us. Time is an insult.â
talonedbanshee:
She had been on staff for a total of two weeks, and she had heard the name various times in a multitude of contexts. âDr. Strange fixed her up like it was nothing, I swear heâs a wizardâ or âThat cocky bastard Strange better check himself, before I wreck his smirking faceâ. She had read some of his research, but it was apparently his methodology and pure ability at the surgeonâs table that made him so renowned. Her interest was piqued to say the least, and it wasnât long before their paths finally crossed.
âSo we finally meet, Dr. Strange.â
She smiled slyly, extending a hand to him. Tucked beneath one slender arm was the bulky case report of the patient they were to discuss treatment of. Of course, she got the distinct feeling that he would prefer to leave the âteamâ out of team effort.Â
[ @doctcrstrange ]
â...............Sorry... Who are you?â His attention had been taken when this one finally showed her face, feigning confusion at her just being in front of him, like heâs supposed to care. âKidding... Yes, I suppose itâs time for us to bump into each other. Bound to happen, eventually. Youâve quite the reputation, Dr. OâDeorain. Iâve already done a bit of reading on you, because I just had to know who theyâre trying to place in my facility.â As he just ignores her outstretched hand, and moves past to grab a large cup of fresh coffee from the counter. âNow, is there something we really needed to discuss, or are you just here to waste my time? I could have sworn I told the others that I didnât ask for any sort of help in my field. Goes to show you how much they listen.â Sips. | @talonedbansheeâ |
Cold surrounded him, and this wasnât like anything heâs experienced before, even the tops of the tallest mountain in his world wasnât as horrid as this. Wakes with a jolt, finding himself forced down with bindings on top of a table, and his eyes already starting to wander in the dimly-lit area. Confusion on his face, and he tried to raise his arms but only met them with resistance, and a glance down was already so hard to do. He saw that this wasnât some simple contraption, and the cold metal that held his bare wrists looked to be made specifically for this. There were even ruins engraved on the top layer, in a language he didnât recognize.  âOkay.... Whatâs going on?...â | @talonedbanshee |
capaciitor:
âYou know, they said you were a real humanitarian and I can see it clear as day.â A sigh seemed to turn his tone somber or the moment. âI need to establish protocol, Strange. As a doctor Iâm sure you can appreciate that. We answer to bigger people, and if Iâm enlisting you to help us, Iâm essentiallyâŠcontracting you.â
Tony hated it, he hated saying it, and most of all he hated seeing the light go out of peopleâs eyes or the suspicion enter them. Yea yea, the big bad government has us by the throatâŠdid no one trust Tony to do the right thing anymore? But that was exactly why he had to keep trying, making these other would-be heroes see that there were ways to work with the system, ways that could help humanity. And that included Mr. Grumpy Cape.
âWe just need to go over some regulations, damage control, blablabla. Unless youâre too busy with, uhâŠâ He vaguely motioned to the item heâd mentioned earlier, wagging his eyebrows at the man.
[ @doctcrstrange ]
â..... Protocol???? What??â His brow raising, and then he just looked away with slight exasperation of this entire conversation. It was something he didnât even think of, but somehow all of this almost felt a little wrong to be discussed? Waves his hand, green light showing from his fingertips, and an apparition-like visage showed to the other something like a one-way mirror. Inside this âmirrorâ was the looming figure of something almost humanoid, looking down upon several planetoids that looked to be pea-sized in comparison.  âYou see that? Thatâs Dormammu... He, not long ago at all, was going to dismantle our entire planet. Now, Mister Stark, I donât exactly think something like regulations and damage control could have prevented anything as wildly cosmically bogus as that coming along.â Waves his hand again, and the entire thing disappeared as it had came. âNo... I donât think I can care too much about these governmental control issues that theyâve seemed to press upon you to enact. Being âbusyâ for me, is continuing to keep our world safe from beings like that. Weâre talking grand scale overlords, Stark... Itâs sort of mind-blowing, honestly, to have that lurking in your thoughts on a daily basis. I donât think you can understand it.â Shakes his head, and his cloak finally relinquished itself from his shoulders to hover over to the stand to lay on. Turns to Stark, looking not as intimidating as he may have been, arms folding across his chest. âLook... Iâm not trying to start anything with you. Itâs just... from my view thereâs much bigger things to worry about than thinking my power is going to be used against the world. As a matter of fact, itâs quite the opposite, Stark. Seeing as your the man who stopped corruption from within his own companyâs name, Iâd make a guess youâd know someone of virtue when you see him.â | @capaciitorâ |
capaciitor:
âUh, gee, good afternoon to you, too! Someone step on your cape this morning?â
Hilarious, Stark. And of course, as usual, the snark was covering up something; the something mostly being âhey this door totally just opened by itself and god knows what other funhouse magic youâre about to seeâ. He hadnât met with Dr. Strange yet (seriously, that name had to have been made up after he put on the cape) but he had been hoping to hold the eventual meeting in Avengers tower. Of course, Strange was too busy with his mystical duties and after months of trying, Tony decided to take the drive.Â
âYou, uh, never seem to have time by the way so I thought Iâd pay a visit. Nice place, veryâŠhaunted house museum.â Flashing Strange a smile, he moved to the nearest artifact on display, encased in glass. âWow, either thatâs a weapon or someoneâs got some unconventional desiresââ
[ @doctcrstrangeâ ]
Turns to him finally, and gets a very long look at what he was dealing with here. Already, he knew the sort and that aggravated him quite a lot to see someone so similar to himself. But weâre not. His goatee isnât as clean as mine. I can tell. As he was getting a little worked up from his thoughts alone, Strange turned his gaze away and looked at the item that held Starkâs interest. Before taking a breath and just sharply staring him down again, his patience running thin.   â...Are you quite done fooling around? What is it that you want, Stark. Please, donât tell me itâs more monsters. Iâd rather not have to deal with sending them orbiting in space, as it is an annoying setup.â | @capaciitorâ |
It was a simple day, for once, no sort of damage control needed on this particular day. Yet, the rest of the week, and for a month he had been dealing with creatures and robots all the same. It was starting to grate on his nerves, but of course he had finally found a bit of peace in reading through several scrolls. That peace was knocked away when he heard the fist on the door to his sanctum, and Strange was quite displeased. He knew who it was, immediately, and let the door open itself. Shoves several of these scrolls back onto their proper places on the shelves as his company took the time to come through.
âIâm busy, you know. I donât have time to deal with whatever it may be now.â | @capaciitor |
