âŠ. it looks like this every year, folks. itâs breathtaking, but it isnât unusual or an artifact of any unusual weather patterns, itâs just what happens there in winter.
(thereâs always a fuckload of mist that comes up from the bottom of the falls, and it lands on and gets frozen to goddamn everything)

Luffy: đ Law: đ
TORAO    /      doctorxdeath·.
Itâs already morning. Another badly slept night has gone by for him, hours of turning in bed aimlessly, haunted by the dead in his life and the ghosts of his fears. Law decides enough is enough a little after dawn, the splash of cold water to his face a much needed boost for the start of the day. Itâs too early even for breakfast. He doubts Blackleg-ya is awake yet. Despite the drowsiness brought by morning and insonmnia both, the doctor figures itâs better go to up to the deck then to wait in his makeshift cabin, to breathe in the sea and check for signs of land. The Thousand Sunny is close to an island, according to Nami-ya, and they should reach it today.Â
Coming up there is a mistake, one that he figures out too late - when the distinguished sound of rubber reaches his ears as a poor warning to the weight that hits him right on the chest. The air is pushed out of Lawâs lungs as Luffy rolls around him like an overtly-happy rubbery constrictor. To say he is dismayed is an understatement. A low, struggling warning of âMugiwara-yaâŠâ is the most he can muster before Luffy gives him enough space to breathe again, a few deep gulfs of air needed before Law can compose himself enough to stare at his fellow captain disapprovingly.
And that is when he finally sees Luffyâs choice of accessory that morning. Law is genuinely too stunned for a proper answer at first, just staring down at the younger man in abject disbelief for few precious seconds. âWhat the hell is that on your face? Are those⊠Chopsticks?â The expression of surprise on his face gradually gives place to one of disgust. âAre you a small child, Mugiwara-ya?? Take that out. Thatâs going to hurt you needlessly. â
toraoâs dismayed WARNING is the only motivator he really needs to wind his arms and legs around his friend thrice-fold. a cackle lost on his lips / wedged beneath the thin planks of the utensils as he shimmies up lawâs frame until heâs apparently comfortable enough to settle.Â
âwhat? yeah! ââ what else would they be? donât be stupid.âÂ
but with the scolding comes the pout. lips puffing out around the splintering wood. betrayal and chagrin ringing hollowly against the onyx of his hues. brows meet one another; his head pulling away from the surgeon as if he was expecting the surgeon to reach out and pluck them from his face. Â
âit doesnât hurt.â he starts matter-of-factually. â- after all, how could it? he was made of rubber!  âcâmon, donât be so stingy torao â- LOOK â we got you a pair too!â and while he doesnât for one moment believe law would actually join them in their harmless fun, it doesnât stop him from freeing a pair from his vest and presenting them to the older captain. all without ever missing a beat.Â
Now, this is just disgusting. Law cannot help but to frown, moving his head away by instinct at the sigh of the utensils up Luffyâs nasal cavity. Somehow, the younger captainâs complete lack of care for consequences never ceases to surprise him, negatively and otherwise - it is almost as if he lives in his very own world, unaware of smaller, unimportant matters such as basic hygiene and proper etiquette. Almost something Law himself, always so haunted by his own thoughts, could envy - almost, as heâd still pick his common sense over this particular brand of peace of mind.Â
âI donât know, Mugiwara-ya, perhaps chopsticks arenât made to be put up oneâs nose?â Despite his knowledge of how sarcasm was plainly lost on Luffy, Law clings to it like a survival mechanism, his biggest support during the stay on the Thousand Sunny. Even he is not so sure where all this exhasperated worry comes from, but it does not change the fact that the main thought in his brain is how easily this kid can get hurt in this nonsense, despite that ignorant belief otherwise. Given Mugiwara-yaâs natural defiance of logic, heâd end up stabbing his own brain by accident. Yet, the most he can muster back to Luffy at first is a grumpy âThanks for the thoughtfulness, but  Iâd rather use them for what they were made for.â
It is quite clear that Strawhat will not set aside his toy, regardless of what the older captain tells him. As such, Law attempts - with difficulty, given the three layers of rubber currently circling him - to raise his hand. âROOM.â The half sphere is conjured flawlessly around them, englobing most of the deck of the Thousand Sunny in a smooth blueish tint. âShambles.â With a quick movement of his hand, the two chopsticks disappear from Luffyâs face - to fall, neatly, over Tanuki-yaâs head a little further ahead from where they stand.

the PAIN in her head is what wakes her up, pulling her to unwanted consciousness. her vision swims, blacking out in the edges as she attempts to sit up.  âwhat. what did you do?â @doctorxdeathÂ
"Shh. Not that fast, Jinx-ya. You still have drugs in your system. We don't want you to faint again, right?" Though the words themselves could be considered caring, his tone is everything but; it holds a hint of hidden amusement, carefully concealed under layers of dismissiveness, under that playful, dreadful smirk on his beautiful face. The prince's amusement is one the unfortunate inhabitants of the Dressrosa Royal Castle have learned to fear, to avoid, as few visions can be as anxiety-inducing as Trafalgar Law's shadow over you, golden eyes bright and arms stained to the elbow in your blood.
Law walks further into the light, into her field of vision, humming softly as his fingers slide over the cold metal of the surgery table. "I merely wished to try a new procedure. You were the best guinea pig for it." His reasoning is as cold as that gleaming stare, despite his rather good humored behavior. He plops his arms on the table beside his patient's head, chin laying on his palm in careless curiosity. "How do you feel? Anything... Different?"
thereâs no warning apart from that of a snicker and the sound of a rubbery twang. closely followed by the tell-tale WHOOSH of displaced air. one moment heâs standing at the aft of the ship, two chopsticks shoved up his nose and caught on the bottom of his lip; laughing and joking along with chopper before heâs suddenly airborne and HURTLING himself right into one trafalgar law with an excited âTORAOOOO.â Â
the other captainâs warmth is a comfort â a means that tells him heâs landed, and luffy canât stop the grin ( chopstick warped grin that it is. ) from morphing his features. âyouâre up early!! didâya hear? weâre about to dock at a new island! shishishi!!âÂ
