But now it has mobile force fields on top of quick programming and all sorts of stuff.

When the screwdriver is simple the doctor becomes amazing, when the screwdriver is amazing the doctor becomes simple. If the screwdriver does ALL the work then the doctor is just a nerdy weirdo in a weird jacket. I would love it if they had an entire season or a whole other doctor go round with the new series where the only thing the screwdriver is used for is as a screwdriver.
