Apologies for the hiatus but we've been experimenting with our blogs and finally decided to come back to Tumblr.

EMC: Get certified!
EMC is pushing certified partners and EMC certified professionals. People have always asked the question does it make sense to get certified. I think the message today is that you should give it some serious thought. #mmtm, #mmtm11, #documentum
OnDemand - it's a partner thing
Just managed to sneak into the media session where EMC made a good presentation of OnDemand and their new partner strategy.
The biggest key point made by Chris Mclaughlin, VP of Channels and Alliances, was that EMC expects 50% of their future software revenue to come from partners! Wow, I dont know the exact current % but I am guessing this is a big increase and one that will go down well with the partners.
Accreditions seem to be the next big thing as well - watch out for more on this as I will write a post very soon. People working in the industry might want to think about getting certified.
Watch out for the company 6pm, a new EMC partner who won an award for their xCP product for Healthcare clients. Also HCL. More info to follow...

Oracle getting nasty with Documentum!

Even for Oracle, this is pretty aggressive although great marketing of course.
The concern for EMC might be that it hits on a few home truths: "customers are increasingly disheartened by the lack of vision and product improvements since the acquisition by EMC. "!
Ooooh...heard that before somewhere but can you take Oracle serious: "Oracle WebCenter provides more than the most comprehensive ECM offering in the industry." Hmmm, how many times does Oracle actually get considered a serious contender to Documentum, FileNet, OT etc. Are we missing something?

'What are you really trying to achieve?'
A great question and thanks to JP for being his usual direct self. ;-)
What we are 'really' trying to do is to create a community space where visitors can find content specific to their profession and make some interesting contacts. By improving the way that companies and Documentum experts communicate we hope to enhance the recruitment experience.
What we are NOT trying to do is cut recruitment agencies out of the loop nor are we building a site that is just for companies who are actively recruiting. We see DC as a social networking space where people working in the community can connect and collaborate.

Welcome to the blog
Hello everyone, we are now live!
Before I answer the question that everyone keeps emailing us about, let me give you a quick heads up on what you can expect from our blog.
First and foremost, we want to provide vistors to our site with a compelling reason to come back! Yes it's obvious I know but now you know that we will endeavour to get great content for so you know what's happening in the Documentum Community. And because you guys make up the community, I want to ask you for you help and support as well. Tell us your news, views, gossip, etc, so we can share it with others and, of course, please help to spread the word!
Secondly, having been a recruiter for the Documentum community for many years, I hope that I can share some tips with you on how to approach finding jobs or identifying the talent you need for your team. Again, if you have questions or ideas for topics, please let me know.
Finally, YES it is a picture of Faceman from the A-team on our home page but I dont know why he was chosen either!
