Our November 1 deadline is almost here! That’s our deadline for Early Decision, Early Action, and Film Production, as well as the priority deadline for Dance, Pre-Pharmacy, Theatre Performance and Screen Acting. For those of you putting the finishing touches on your application, here are some final tips: 1. Don’t wait until the last minute to submit your application, especially if you’re applying to a talent-based program. Applicants to talent-based programs need to submit a Creative Supplement, and you won’t get access to your Creative Supplement until 24-48 hours after you submit your Common App! 2. It’s okay if we don’t have your test scores by November 1. If you took tests by October at the latest, we’ll have your scores in time for review. Submit your test scores as soon as you have them! (Official scores are not required for review of your application. We will require official scores to be sent after a student has been offered admission.) 3. Not all items need to be submitted by the deadline. As stated above, official test scores can be submitted after admission. Letters of recommendation and transcripts can also be submitted later (but we will need them to review your application). 4. If you haven’t logged in to your Application Status Page, do it! Login information is in the email that confirmed we received your Common App. Your Application Status Page is where you can track your application and will get your decision. 5. Breathe! Remember to breathe! You’re almost done with the application process and it will all be okay :) Creative Supplement Troubleshooting If you’re submitting a Creative Supplement video and you run into any issues, here are some tips: 1. You might get an error because your file is too big (close to or over 2 GB). Larger files can stall out on wireless connections. We recommend compressing your file to well below 2 GB using an online compressor. If you Google “video compressor” you should be able to find several free options. 2. If you are uploading an .mov file, try changing the file type to mp4 or other accepted format. 3. If your Application Status Page shows that we have received your Creative Supplement Media Upload (the green checkbox), but there is an error in your file, you can delete your Creative Supplement Media and upload a new, corrected version.
